Agustin Miglino Posted November 11, 2007 at 04:12 PM Posted November 11, 2007 at 04:12 PM Hi, I konw it's way over the dead line, but we didn't see the post about the update . It's there any chance to send the info we need to be update? because there's a serious error in our airspace that it would be great if it's fixed . Thanks Guys Sincerly Senior Controller C3 | CMEL
Alex Stjepanovic 963114 Posted November 11, 2007 at 04:21 PM Posted November 11, 2007 at 04:21 PM but we didn't see the post about the update - A NOTAM was sent out Both the theoretical and practical deadlines are up I'm afraid. What needs updating? Controllers have feelings too...

What needs updating? D'OH!. There's an error with a FIR connection and a TMA Control connection wich they are shown in the same way. And those pilots that don't know the diference get pretty confused. Well thanks any way . Sincerely Senior Controller C3 | CMEL
Alex Stjepanovic 963114 Posted November 11, 2007 at 05:07 PM Posted November 11, 2007 at 05:07 PM Since it's one FIR, there wouldn't have been a chance of adding a fictional FIR to represent a TMA anyhow(At least not this time round). The only way to do this is to use the alias feature. I presume this is what you meant? Controllers have feelings too...
Agustin Miglino Posted November 11, 2007 at 05:36 PM Posted November 11, 2007 at 05:36 PM the real FIR connection it's SAEF_CTR. Inside this FIR there's a TMA Control wichs is BAIRES_CTR. When you connect as BAIRES you are shown in the ServInfo like the entire FIR but this position only controls 55nm arround SAEZ airport. So many many pilots call you like you were the FIR. Also shows the same name for both when SAEF_CTR it's "Ezeiza Center" and BAIRES_CTR it's "Buenos Aires Control". Daniel Doorgakant Posted November 11, 2007 at 06:41 PM Posted November 11, 2007 at 06:41 PM Unfortunately you can't submit this to the this version of the update, many Divisions and vACCs were not allowed to do this. But Alex has said that this could be possible in the next update.... I like your star by the way

But Alex has said that this could be possible in the next update.... I like your star by the way Muahahah - I have an expert apprentice on my hands On a serious note - All Dan said(And I earlier) is true. It's not possible to add the TMA separately. This is the problem behind the alias function that many vACC's face - The whole FIR is lit, even though only a much smaller sector is actually active. I guess one alternative would be to sign in as APP instead? Controllers have feelings too...

Alex Stjepanovic 963114 Posted November 28, 2007 at 12:02 AM Posted November 28, 2007 at 12:02 AM Clearly we aren't familiar with sarcasm and jokes... As told before.....It'll be published when it's ready. I know all you guys are are anxious to get this update, but the best thing for it, is if we take the time required to do it properly, rather than rush something and forget someone's update/make an error in the way it's published/consider various aspects of what else is going on in the network etc etc. Patience is the key and it will be rewarded Controllers have feelings too... Alex, in my opinion sarcasm should be left out if you are answering questions about an official VATSIM update. Its more professional. Ross Carlson Posted November 28, 2007 at 08:04 PM Posted November 28, 2007 at 08:04 PM This banter serves no purpose. I've locked the thread and will post another reply when the update is ready. I'll probably also send out a NOTAM email. Thank you to everyone that submitted updated data, and thank you to Alex for collating all the data into a single update, which I will be packaging and providing for download. Stay tuned!
