Alexander Nguyen 1028848 Posted September 30, 2007 at 08:11 PM Posted September 30, 2007 at 08:11 PM I can't seem to log into VATUSA Los Angeles' Exam Center. I type in my CID and VATUSA p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word but it just says incorrect p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word and such. Does it take time to update the system or what? Thanks

Paul O'Donnell 969350 Posted October 1, 2007 at 01:29 AM Posted October 1, 2007 at 01:29 AM Does anybody know how long it takes for the guy to reply to the email? I have been waiting all day. Sorry if I keep asking but I just really want to see some ATC action. How long is a piece of string? He may be busy, remember that this is a hobby and that people often have lives outside of VATSIM. I suggest waiting a little longer than a day. Usually if there's no reply within a week you would start to ask questions. I understand your enthusiasm, but a day is a rather short time. Keith Smith Posted October 1, 2007 at 02:51 PM Posted October 1, 2007 at 02:51 PM Alexander, SLOW....DOWN. You have no idea how silly it looks to post to a national forum about a regional issue, only to post a few hours later asking "how long does it take the guy to write back?" ZLA has one of the longest, most rigorous training processes in the country. If you're not willing to show some patience, you're not going to enjoy it, and you're going to make people around you quite miserable, too. Lastly, once you actually start your training on the scope, you'll be waiting in line with many other students. If you bombard the staff with training requests, one after the other, you'll be ignored. Fair warning. Now, deep breath, and start over.

Alexander Nguyen 1028848 Posted October 2, 2007 at 06:24 AM Author Posted October 2, 2007 at 06:24 AM This is actually all help to me so no need to defend me. One question. What happens after we p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] the basic exam and get the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]words and username? Do I log on the server and observe to learn more or do I get to do some minor controlling? I jsut want everything to be ready when I p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] so there is no more confusion. I am still confused about the ranks and who gets solo and such. Thanks again
Bryan Wollenberg 810243 Posted October 2, 2007 at 08:10 AM Posted October 2, 2007 at 08:10 AM After you p[Mod - Happy Thoughts], you will need to set up a session (on the Training Requests portion of the ZLA Forum) with a Mentor, and he'll get you started on LAX_GND. This should all be detailed in the welcome e-mail you received from Shawn. Welcome to ZLA! Bryan Wollenberg ZLA!
