Marcel Tjoeng 977157 Posted October 29, 2007 at 12:21 PM Posted October 29, 2007 at 12:21 PM Hi Im a dutch pilot and recently joined EHAM ATC I would like it if its possible to join KLAX (or somewhere USA / KSFO or KLAS etc) ATC also, because of the timezones (no night traffic at EHAM) I heared an obvious Brit accent ATC'er when I flew in the USA .. so When I try to enter VATUSA with my VATEU p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word it says "not known in VATUSA" I am afraid I will loose VATEU status if I enter into VATUSA??? What's the right way to have both VATEU en VATUSA status? thx MT
Paul Byrne Posted October 29, 2007 at 05:56 PM Posted October 29, 2007 at 05:56 PM Hi Marcel, You do not need to be a member of VATUSA to fly in US airspace. If you want to control full time in VATUSA then you will need to transfer, but if you just want to fly, then just start FS, connect to VATSIM and off you go. Cheers! Paul. Ross Carlson Posted October 29, 2007 at 06:03 PM Posted October 29, 2007 at 06:03 PM Marcel, if you're asking about controlling in Los Angeles without transferring to the VATUSA division, then you can seek visiting controller status with ZLA. (The Los Angeles ARTCC.) Check the ZLA website for information on becoming a visiting controller. This applies to other ARTCCs within the US also.
