Anthony Atkielski 985811 0
Is there anyone who produces top-quality, payware, up-to-date airport scenery for KORD? Something like Aerosoft's Heathrow would be very nice.
Chris Smith 812912 0
I think it would be smart to have a similiar event on Friday, the 23rd - sometime in the late afternoon. I know a lot of people have work and school off on this day and it provides a beter venue than your local mall - AVOID BLACK FRIDAY Chris Chris Smith Hundreds of Real-World Airlines and Routes for you to fly at http://www.ndbair.com
Bryan Wollenberg 810243 0
Chris, ZLA was actually debating between the 23rd and the 30th, but went with the latter since a lot of people are going to be out of town for Thanksgiving weekend. Would be nice to see one that Friday though. Bryan Wollenberg ZLA!
Board of Governors Matthew Bartels 74 Posted November 10, 2007 Author Board of Governors Share Posted November 10, 2007 This event was orginally scheduled for the 23, and we fought long and hard about whether or not it would be a smart gamble with people out of town. Well, you can see which logic prevailed Matt BartelsVP: Marketing & Communication vpmkt (at) vatsim.net Unless otherwise stated, opinions are my own and not representative of the official opinion of the VATSIM Board of Governors

Aaron Barclay 878822 0
Giggity giggity goo, lets fly to the zoo. It was the night before the return of FNO, when all through the network the controllers were ready to go. The signups comleted with care, In hopes that every pilot would be there. The controllers were sleeping so nicely, until visions of bad pilots haunted them nightly. The ED, ATM, and TA were all freaking out, as they calmed the fears of those who had doubt. The FNO on the chest of vZAU bestowed, which gave hope to those who could not carry this load. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But all those who dedicate their time to volunteer. Supervisors, controllers and pilots alike, wait in suspense to see what the event will be like. So into the kitchen they dashed with cheer, to grab that much needed pre-FNO beer. When on the VATSIM network there rose such a bang, I rose from my sleep to see this wonderful thang. Away to my radar scope I hobbled in haste, to ensure vZAU's FNO quality would not be debased. With a diverse collection of controllers, so quick and so trained, I knew it must be vZAU's shot at fame. More rapid than Jim Johnson, his aircraft came, and he whistled and shouted, calling every aircraft by name. Now S1! now, S2! now, C1 and C3! On center! On, tower! On approach and delivery! From the top of the roster, to the bottom of same, now with a common hope to maintain. And then in a twinkling of an eye the traffic started to flow, wait! I need my headset before I'm ready to go. As I drew in my head the vZAU procedures that bind, there came the handoff I needed, just in time. I was all dressed in my boxers not briefs, hoping I could push tin flawlesslessly for all of my chiefs. A battle of airways was underway, and I was hoping while talking to the pilots, I'd know what to say. The desk covered with every SID and every STAR, as I put the lighter up and lite my cigar. The featured airports being Midway and O'hare, controlling anywhere else wouldn't even compare. Bradford 5, Sayrs 2, Janesville 4 or Goshen 3, I could care less, everyone else was playing checkers, while vZAU was playing chess. Now I couldn't remember which STAR they were on, as I frantically try to remember, I shout "HOLD ON MOM"! With pilots calling and asking for higher, I almost forgot the calls of nature were so dire. I sprang from my chair to sprint to the restroom, there I strained hard since I couldn't wait to resume. Sitting back down I reported "I'm back", when I got a call from approach telling me to stack. "PAY1802 hold at Bradford until approach is ready, keep the turns nice and steady" With no end to the arrivals and departures in sight, my eyes were filled with nothing but delight. As Chicago's finest FNO finally started to slow, I realized the traffic kicked my ....well you know. I sprang from my seat, to my team gave applause, and because this is VATSIM we get away with our flaws. But we always do our best to get it right, with that being said, welcome to VATIM, enjoy the ride and hang on tight! Yes I was extremely bored at work!
