Mathew Magera 931028 Posted November 13, 2007 at 04:42 PM Posted November 13, 2007 at 04:42 PM (edited) As the year draws to a close, what can virtual pilots look forward to? Nothing other than flying to the motor city for the Greater Detroit VI presented by ZOB ARTCC and sponsored by Flight1! Each year this event gets better and better. This year as we celebrate number 6 we will out do ourselves to make this the event of the year! Sunday December 9th 8-11pm ET (0100-0400z) KDTW (Wayne County International Airport) KDET (Detroit City Airport) Pilot's are encouraged not only to fly into the motor city, but to participate in our screen shot contest! The best screen shot will win an opportunity to choose, FREE, any item Flight1 offers. Visit zobartcc.org for details and contest rules. Perhaps you want to want to celebrate 6 another way. Perhaps you want to fly a Boeing 7 "6" 7, perhaps an A340-"6"00, a "6" seater aircraft, or even fly from the "6th" US State to join the union. It's all up to you but 6 is the number. Anything you can do to fly in using the number 6 is all we ask. Your creativity using the number 6 will be judged on submitted screenshots. Be creative, we will too! Cleveland ARTCC wants to end their 2007 event season with a bang and what better way than to finish it with our most popular event of the year! Mark this date on your calendar because you don't want to miss it! Edited December 3, 2007 at 12:45 AM by Guest
Chris Smith Posted November 14, 2007 at 11:13 PM Posted November 14, 2007 at 11:13 PM How about flying in with the callsign "Satan Air 666" Chris Smith Hundreds of Real-World Airlines and Routes for you to fly at http://www.ndbair.com
Steven Perry Posted November 15, 2007 at 12:29 AM Posted November 15, 2007 at 12:29 AM Satan was a military callsign, but I heard it's been disallowed by the PC police. But I suppose on Vatsim a flight of six F6F Hellcats under callsign Satan 666 escorting a B6 (Jet Blue) flight would be interesting. Full moon on 9 December? Might need a few supervisors around. Brian Beach 915973 Posted November 15, 2007 at 12:44 AM Posted November 15, 2007 at 12:44 AM OR maybe file your flightplan at an altitude of FL2'6'0 at a speed of 4'66' knots, with a departure time of '6' PM ET. Just don't get caught flying at '6'x time! Chris Smith Posted November 15, 2007 at 08:45 PM Posted November 15, 2007 at 08:45 PM How about taking 6 seconds to respond to any air traffic control instruction - I might try that one As a result, you might put me in a 60 minute holding pattern. Jacob Bednard 1034350 Posted November 17, 2007 at 11:33 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 11:33 PM Could we also get Selfridge(KMTC) for military ops. Also Selfridge is basically in my backyard Its got a 10,000 foot runway. One of the largest in the Tri-County area. Thanks, Skata
Brian Beach 915973 Posted November 17, 2007 at 11:39 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 11:39 PM I doubt we would be able to staff Selfridge, since it is not in the Detroit TRACON. After all, it is the Greater Detroit VI! Jacob Bednard 1034350 Posted November 18, 2007 at 12:05 AM Posted November 18, 2007 at 12:05 AM I doubt we would be able to staff Selfridge, since it is not in the Detroit TRACON. After all, it is the Greater Detroit VI! But it would make me happy Yeah its fine. Just thinking it be awesome having it open. I know I would fly it. I plan on flying. D98 - 57D - KPTK - KYIP - KDET - KMTC - D98. Could we get Selfridge Approach? You gotta think, depart KDET to the north. Detroit approach doesn't extend to far north of of KDET. Turns to Selfridge Approach quick. I'm not trying to bother you a lot, I just get excited when FS stuff happens in Michigan in General. Maybe one of these times some will do a good scenery for Detroit . Thanks, Jake

Mathew Magera 931028 Posted November 27, 2007 at 08:18 PM Author Posted November 27, 2007 at 08:18 PM To answer the replies about the date and time of the event... The event is on Sunday December 9th at night from 8-11pm ET. This happens to be 0100-0400z on the 10th of December, but for all who can figure out that Sunday December 9th at 8pm means Sunday December 9th at 8pm, we're in good shape.
