Stephen Chase 935017 Posted December 2, 2007 at 08:48 PM Posted December 2, 2007 at 08:48 PM I've seen numerous posts about this so I'll be happy if someone can direct me to a thread or somewhere where this has already been discussed. Here's what I'm using: FS2002, Vista, SB3.1.0. I also downloaded Common Shapes Library for Squawkbox. Here's what I'm doing: Going online with dial up connection. Starting FS and positioning aircraft on a ramp. Going to modules and clicking on connect. Squawkbox window pops up. Then I'm going to multiplayer, clicking connect, using localhost & search - my Squawkbox selection comes up and I click on it, then click join. This is where the problem is. The busy circle appears for a few seconds then nothing. Any one else encountered this problem? I can continue starting SB and can hear ATC and see text but cannot see other aircraft. Any suggestions? Did I leave anything out? I'm not very accustomed to extracting files but I followed the directions placing each download in the place required. I just used Vista's default screen that came up to extract the compressed files. I also don't see the aircraft that came in a compressed file in my list of aircraft. Any help or direction most appreciated. ATC did see me and could receive my texts. I've read through PRC and don't see this directly addressed unless I've overlooked it. Stephen Chase 935017 Posted December 2, 2007 at 09:08 PM Author Posted December 2, 2007 at 09:08 PM Thanks, I went to that forum link and read it. That seems to be what I'm doing but no cigar. I've completely turned off my Trend Micro internet firewall and protection.... Ports are only an issue if you have a router right?
Stephen Chase 935017 Posted December 3, 2007 at 02:13 AM Author Posted December 3, 2007 at 02:13 AM I just found this thread: http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?t=24099&sid=422322ef72b907cc4cf1ec1ac286db53 On the pilot software page of VATSIM it describes the CSL as needed if you want to see other aircraft.....so do I need it or not? Anyone with some experience with this? Thanks y'all.
