New to FS9 on VATSIM and have one annoying issue remaining

Hi,

 

I've long used FS2k2 on VATSIM, and am now getting FS9 going and have received help from this forum getting as far as I did.

Now I'm at a point where I can get online and see other pilots! The issue I'm trying to resolve is that I can't quit FS9

cleanly; it hangs trying to close mutliplayer session, or I'm unwilling to wait that long and get the task manager up and

see FS9 not responding and I end up end tasking it. Not a show stopper issue, but it annoys me mainly because I can't

seem to get some settings to stick upon the unclean exit (like default flight settings?) and I'm curious if there're

any answers out here.

Have you tried closing the programs in a different order? I'd imagine that in Windows it's possible that the sim hangs up if you close SBRelay. Or maybe if you close it before FS9 it works. So I'd first try different orders in closing SB and if that doesn't work, manually closing the multiplayer session in the sim's menus and then exiting the whole program.

are you closing FS without first closing SB? could be sbhost hangs...

try this order.

 

diconnect SB

exit SB

close host SB

close FS

close sbrelay.
