Mark Richards Posted December 4, 2007 at 01:38 PM Posted December 4, 2007 at 01:38 PM I'm slowly, very slowly, developing the ESE file for VATNZ. In VRC and ASRC we have created SIDS and STARS that reflect a DME ARC by adding the points as Latitude and Longitude. An example of this is is the Tory 1A (TR1A) STAR 34 arrival into NZWN Wellington. Chart here: http://www.aip.net.nz/pdf/NZWN_33.1_33.2.pdf This is defined in the Sector File as: ;STAR 34 TORY NZWN TR1A TR TR CABLE CABLE CABLE CABLE S041.30.42.000 E174.34.44.000 S041.30.42.000 E174.34.44.000 S041.32.08.452 E174.36.50.937 S041.32.08.452 E174.36.50.937 S041.33.19.252 E174.39.14.335 S041.33.19.252 E174.39.14.335 S041.34.13.981 E174.41.49.825 S041.34.13.981 E174.41.49.825 S041.34.51.510 E174.44.34.210 S041.34.51.510 E174.44.34.210 S041.35.12.000 E174.47.24.000 S041.35.12.000 E174.47.24.000 LYALL LYALL Is this also possible in the ESE format??? I'd really appreciate any [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance I can get to get our current files amended for EuroScope so that we can offer both to our members. Jean-Luc Lecardinal 979490 Posted December 5, 2007 at 10:09 AM Posted December 5, 2007 at 10:09 AM (edited) Hello Mark, First thing. I think (Gergely tell me if i am wrong), Euroscope doesn't support fixes name in SID&STAR description in the sct file. You need to replace them by their geographical coordinates to display them on your radar scope. The SIDSTAR section in the ese file is not to display SID's and STAR's but to give Euroscope pieces of information make it able to analyse the FP and to help ATC to determine which procedure to use according to the rwy in use. So, just give the list of radio-aids or fixes as published for the SID's & Star's you want to describe in the ese file, Euroscope will work for you Regards, Jean-Luc Edited December 5, 2007 at 10:34 AM by Guest

Hi Stephan, I have tried few weeks ago and it didn't work but perhaps my ese files contained some errors. I will try again today. cdt Jean-Luc

You need to replace them by their geographical coordinates to display them on your radar scope. That's not correct. ES supports that just as VRC does. 6 months down the track and we're getting there, with a couple of us having a renewed interest in getting EuroScope v3.0a working for New Zealand. This point, however is still one of the stumbling blocks. Stephen says you add coordinates to the SIDSTARS section but no-one's yet explained the syntax for it. Using my example above, could someone please advise if it is: STAR:NZWN:34:TR1A:TR CABLE S041.30.42.000 E174.34.44.000 S041.32.08.452 E174.36.50.937 S041.33.19.252 E174.39.14.335 S041.34.13.981 E174.41.49.825 S041.34.51.510 E174.44.34.210 S041.35.12.000 E174.47.24.000 LYALL STAR:NZWN:34:TR1A:TR CABLE S041.30.42.000 E174.34.44.000 S041.32.08.452.E174.36.50.937 S041.33.19.252.E174.39.14.335 S041.34.13.981.E174.41.49.825 S041.34.51.510.E174.44.34.210 S041.35.12.000.E174.47.24.000 LYALL (the difference between full stops (periods, dots whatever you like to call them) between the Southern and Eastern Coordinates) None of the above Next beast to tackle is the [AIRSPACE] section for coordination, but small steps. All help appreciated. Mark Mark Richards (811451) Auckland, New Zealand
Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted June 10, 2008 at 12:02 PM Posted June 10, 2008 at 12:02 PM Ok, just to make one thing clear first: Jean-Luc's statement I was referring to was about the SCT file, not about the ESE file. If I understand you correct, then you are trying to build up the SIDSSTARS section of the ESE file. There coordinates are not supported. What you could do is, defining those coordinates as FIXES in the SCT file, and then use those fixes.
