Jan Sembdner 1039328 Posted December 21, 2007 at 09:25 PM Posted December 21, 2007 at 09:25 PM Good Evening, my problem is that when I'm flying online and an ATC is with me, he sees my aircraft moving slower then it is. Some of the ATC's say my simulation speed is slower then 1x but I didn't found an option in X-Plane to change this, and I can't remember that I did it anyway. So, please help me Greets Jan
Lennart Vedin Posted December 22, 2007 at 02:04 PM Posted December 22, 2007 at 02:04 PM It think it is impossible that ATC (just not temporary) see you at correct position while the speed indicate wrong. ATC will see your speed when you move your position at VATSIM network. You may have fault in your air speed indication. There is also different speeds "Indicated air-speed" that is show in cokpit instrument. "Ground-speed" that is the speed you see on the network such as in ServInfo. ATC must convert the ground-speed into Indicated air-speed by use flight-level and wind, else ATC can't see your "Indicated air-speed". For you as pilot, just make sure you correct read the Indicated air-speed, (in Microsoft FS one can select Indicated air-speed or true air-speed, and true air-speed is just a fake by reason i not know) / Lennart Vedin /
Seth Laws 1023369 Posted December 23, 2007 at 12:13 AM Posted December 23, 2007 at 12:13 AM Hi Jan! I also use X-plane though it is X-plane 8.60 because v8.64 messed all of my aircraft up. Anyway, if you are using v8.60, there is no way to slow your aircraft down unless you are in replay mode. Also, the ATC might be seeing your true airspeed because of some XSB preferences or operations and warning preferences. If that's not it, the ATC are having a problem on their end with whatever client they're using. I hope this helps. ~Seth Without dreams, life ceases to entertain. Jan Sembdner 1039328 Posted December 23, 2007 at 10:21 AM Author Posted December 23, 2007 at 10:21 AM Ok, thanks for replying. The ATC's said that it couldn't be True Airspeed because it was really tooooo slow, I'll try it with another aircraft maybe it depends on it and there is a failure in one of the aircraft files. Seth Laws 1023369 Posted December 27, 2007 at 01:26 PM Posted December 27, 2007 at 01:26 PM One other thing in X-plane. If you're flying the default British Airways 777-200, your true airspeed is on the instrument all the way to the bottom in green text. The instrument is cut off. Dhruv Kalra Posted January 12, 2008 at 10:45 AM Posted January 12, 2008 at 10:45 AM If X-Plane runs into to more than it can handle, processing-wise, it actually slows the flight model down to a "time ratio" of up to 1.5 seconds of "real" time for every second of simulated time. Effectively, your sim acts as though it's running as slow as 2/3 of 1:1 ratio speed, thus the controller sees you as being slower than your instruments in X-Plane indicate.
