Gary Millsaps 830104 Posted December 23, 2007 at 07:11 PM Posted December 23, 2007 at 07:11 PM ATTENTION! VATUSA Data Services announces a new, streamlined VATUSA New Membership process. In order to ease the sometimes confusing VATUSA sign-up process, VATUSA Data Services has developed an "intelligent" New Membership page and process. It can be reached via the "New Members Click Here" link on the main page of the VATUSA website. This process is intended for NEW controller sign-ups only and is included in the welcoming email that is sent when anyone joins VATSIM and selects VATUSA as their "home" Division. The process leads the new member step-by-step through all of the tasks necessary to complete their VATUSA membership including the Basic Controller Exam as well as selecting their initial ARTCC [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignment. We hope this is one of many improvements intended to make everyone's experiences within VATUSA more enjoyable while also easing the administrative burden. If you experience any problems with the new webpage and process, please send an email to vatusa6vatusa.net. Please include your VATSIM registered name and CID in the email. NOTE: No current VATUSA members need go through this new sign-up process as your accounts are valid and will NOT be affected. Thank you. Hey Brian, are there any written regs that says WHEN we they must be promoted to S1? Such as after DEL certification or something like that? Or is it at the ARTCC's Training Department discretion? Joe Flodman 1057906 Posted April 24, 2008 at 05:58 PM Posted April 24, 2008 at 05:58 PM I just got signed up with VATSIM then VATUSA. However in the sign up process in VATUSA it takes me to an ATC exam. I do not wish to become an ATC. Is this a standard test for everyone or did I do something wrong in the sign up process? Any help would be helpful. Thankx.
Richard Ruminski Posted April 24, 2008 at 06:40 PM Posted April 24, 2008 at 06:40 PM Hi Joe, There is no requirement for pilots to join VATUSA! Pilot membership is totally voluntary – you can keep flying as you always have, enjoying the outstanding Air Traffic Services of VATUSA & VATSIM without joining VATUSA. Only those members wanting to join an ARTCC and work as an Air Traffic Controller (ATC) anywhere within the VATUSA Division – MUST join VATUSA and complete the entire process. Joe Flodman 1057906 Posted April 24, 2008 at 08:09 PM Posted April 24, 2008 at 08:09 PM OK that explains it. So VATUSA is only for ATC's within the USA. Thank you for the reply. Now I just need to figure out FSInn???????? I will look through the forums for more info.
