George Bloor 1041040 Posted December 27, 2007 at 07:22 PM Posted December 27, 2007 at 07:22 PM I joined VATSIM a couple of days ago and everything was fine until i tried to file my first flightplan. I entered the info and when i clicked submit, it came up with a message saying "problem filing flightplan" or something to that effect. I was looking to do a couple of simple traffic patterns at Jersey (upwind, downwind, base, final, touch and go etc.) and that's what i typed in the route box on the flightplan. Is it possible in VATSIM to do this kind of a flight and if so, how should i type it in??? Any help will be greatly appreciated, Best Regards VATUK-Midlands RTS ATCO & Mentor EGLL Validated

George Bloor 1041040 Posted December 27, 2007 at 08:27 PM Author Posted December 27, 2007 at 08:27 PM Ok, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that but if i were to say that i installed version 3 of Squakbox, would that be what you mean? Larry James 901346 Posted December 27, 2007 at 09:35 PM Posted December 27, 2007 at 09:35 PM maybe if i said it was in Ireland, that might help? It would have to be a reference to something you downloaded and clicked on to install. You'll find the names of the clients in the PRC. That is where you click on "New Pilots Start Here" from the front page ( www.vatsim.net ). -- L. James -- L. D. George Bloor 1041040 Posted December 27, 2007 at 09:54 PM Author Posted December 27, 2007 at 09:54 PM It says that it was given courtesy of Nick Whittome? If this isn't anything important, can you tell me where abouts in the PRC i can find the info your talking about. If this isn't anything important, can you tell me where abouts in the PRC i can find the info your talking about. Best Regards VATSIM 103, the Software Setup Section. Since you've already mentioned SB3, it appears that's what you installed. If you give the exact error message that you get, it might help to identify the problem. If you tried to file the flight plan with missing information you also use the PRC to see what to put in the flight plan. That's a section in the PRC that says First Flight. It'll give you examples of filing the flight plan. It'll also show you how to file the flight plan via the web. -- L. James -- L. D. Also, do you know how to type in a simple vfr circuit into the route box on a flightplan? Also, do you know how to type in a simple vfr circuit into the route box on a flightplan? Best Regards, If you followed the example in the PRC and still get the error, you might test the web filing in the meantime and insure everything else is working. Plus you can do the circuit you wanted to fly. Some one with other tips will chime in on what might be the problem causing the current error you're getting. -- L. James -- L. D.
