George Bloor 1041040 Posted December 28, 2007 at 12:02 PM Posted December 28, 2007 at 12:02 PM Hi, Could anyone tell me how to type in a flightplan, in the flightplan page that consists of taking-off, downwind, base, final, touch and go, then the same thing three times before a full stop landing at the same airport? It's my first flight and i was looking for something easy but it doesn't seem to be! Any help would be greatly appreciated, Best Regards. Bill Casey Posted December 28, 2007 at 12:46 PM Posted December 28, 2007 at 12:46 PM Hi George and welcome to Vatsim! If you're simply planning on doing circuits (or closed pattern as they call it in the USA) then simply file that as your flight plan. e.g. If you're doing this VFR then simply file "VFR Circuits" as your flight plan and do as many as you like. Also worthwhile putting "New pilot" or "first flight" in the remarks box so that the controllers are aware and will make allowances for you. Best of luck and prepare to become very addicted Bill Casey

Wycliffe Barrett Posted December 28, 2007 at 01:27 PM Posted December 28, 2007 at 01:27 PM have you put your dep and dets airport in. If I was flying circuits at Cardiff my flight plan would be filed as Dep Airport EGFF Arr Airport EGFF Flightplan VFR Circuits Circuits try that with the airport of your choice Wycliffe Barrett: C3 Controller "if god meant for us to fly, he would have given us tickets" Mel Brooks
Bill Casey Posted December 28, 2007 at 01:37 PM Posted December 28, 2007 at 01:37 PM Although only necessary to put the word "circuits" once Wycliffe Btw George - where is it that you're trying to file your flight plan? You only need enter these details in your pilot client (FSInn or SB3) and send it, I've never seen mine reject a flight plan like that. Larry James 901346 Posted December 28, 2007 at 04:06 PM Posted December 28, 2007 at 04:06 PM Hi, George. First, I'll say it's against policy to start multiple topics with the same question. You started another topic expressing you're having problems with your flight plan. I gave you instructions, which is the last message, of what to do and how to test it. You didn't respond as to whether you did it or whether it worked or failed ( http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?t=26201#204632 ). I don't know whether to keep trying to help, because you might ignore this message and start a new topic. However, I'll try again. First, I would have to know an answer to my question in the last thread. I asked you to follow the example in the PRC's first flight. It has a graphic picture of how your flight plan should look. Does yours look like that before you click send? Also, you said you have filed it using the Web utility. Did you have problems with the ATC when you tried to fly the flight plan you filed? I commend you for wanting to get it right before bothering the ATC. But if you file it the best you can following the example in the PRC, the ATC wouldn't mind amending it for you if it has simple errors. If they don't understand what you file, they will ask you what the meaning of what you have submitted. They’ll then amend it and give it back to you correct (or tell you what to change on it). Does the Web Utility give you errors when you try to file it with that? Finally, will you capture a picture of your flight plan and upload it to my ( http://www.apollo3.com/~ljames/upload )? I'll study it and post it back with arrows pointing to where I see errors. Again, as I mentioned in the other thread, you might try the elements of the First Flight section of the PRC so that we can become familiar with whether the problem is with your installation of SB3. If you can identify to us everything else works, then the error is most likely as we're suspecting, you're leaving something out of your flight plan. -- L. James -- L. D. James [email protected] www.apollo3.com/~ljames sticky: Not a regular post, but a special thread/message stuck to the top with special meaning… containing important forum information. For FSInn/VATSIM issues, please test the FSInn Installation sticky and linked FAQ. It really works!
George Bloor 1041040 Posted December 29, 2007 at 03:21 PM Author Posted December 29, 2007 at 03:21 PM Right, it seems that i have made a few mistakes but i have found my main problem and how to solve it. It appears that i have been filing my flightplans on the VATSIM website. I realise now that you only have to file a flightplan in your voice client, as somone pointed out to me. Thanks for your help and sorry if i broke any rules...still a bit new. Bets Regards VATUK-Midlands RTS ATCO & Mentor EGLL Validated
