TWRTrainer question - adding arrivals?

Pretty simple question about TWRTrainer...do we need to define arrivals somewhere in the aircraft file? Or can we just use the "add" command and the program will figure out a callsign on it's own?

You need to use the add command. If you define them in the aircraft file, they'll just be airborne aircraft flying a set heading, speed, and altitude. They won't land unless you tell them to enter final or the pattern. I always just use the add command because they automatically appear on final for the specified runway. It's real easy to create a "string of pearls" by using the up arrow to recall the previous add command, and just changing the distance and optionally the weight category.

How does it come up with the callsigns for those you make with the add command?

Depending on the size of the aircraft you request, it picks a callsign prefix (airline code) from the list configured in the apt file, then adds on 3 or 4 random digits. If you ask for a small aircraft, it'll generate a random N number.

Ah hah! I wondered what that part of the airport file was for!

Thanks for the help, Ross! I'm a huge fan of TWRTrainer, and this has helped me finish my first scenario.
