Kelly Scandale 924492 Posted April 4, 2005 at 02:25 AM Posted April 4, 2005 at 02:25 AM Hello I was wondering if anyone knew of an issue with the ServInfo program where the program presents a pop-up saying the data is old and to try another server. All of the VATSIM servers I try when it does this return the same message - saying the data is old and do I want to try another server. This occurs whether I manually refresh using ths VATSIM icon or when the program does an auto update. Sometimes the pop-up reports the data is more than 15 minutes out of date. My PC clock is in sync - no firewall - no viruses-worms-trojans-spyware. I have a clean machine This occurs on 2 different computers - both running XP SP2. My internet connections, RWilco, ASRC and websites etc all work normally when this happens. I have noticed that the Texas server (USA-S3) will not respond to a ping but all other servers do - but this is the case even when it is working. Any clues - does this event happen to anyone else ? thanks Kelly A new and pleased VATSIM user.

Double click on the time icon in the systray, and report back whether or not it displays Central/Eastern/Mountain/Pacific Daylight Time at the bottom of the screen. How old does it say the data is? Kelly Scandale 924492 Posted April 4, 2005 at 03:38 AM Author Posted April 4, 2005 at 03:38 AM Hi Mark, thanks for the reply - PC clock is @ EDT and is correct - and matches the Time in ServInfo - the error when it occurs has shown that the data is as old as 20 minutes sometimes - giving me the choice to try another server (no joy) or use the outdated data - which is not useful as it isnt' timely. thanks kelly
Jan Naslund Posted April 4, 2005 at 09:45 AM Posted April 4, 2005 at 09:45 AM Hi there, I am using servinfo every time i am online and i get this quite often. Usually it's ok again after an hour or two but sometimes it's down for longer. Usually on Friday afternoon (Central European Time) and does'nt come back until Monday. I have never really got explained precisely how this works but i think there is a separate servers for servinfo but somehow they use some common point. When this point does not work, this happens. Perhaps someone in the know can tell us more? Best Rgs / Jan N
