Brian Benscoter 1044312 Posted January 21, 2008 at 07:49 PM Posted January 21, 2008 at 07:49 PM While flying today, COM1 tuned to 122.80 everytime I sent text in the Unicom chat box of FSINN I received the following message: "PRIVATE>SERVER : WARNING - AUTOMATED SERVER MESSAGE - You are on invalid frequency PRIVATE>SERVER : Download FSUIPC.DLL from www.simclients.com and install it PRIVATE>SERVER : Read CAREFULLY the installation instructions in the enclosed readme.txt file" I have the latest (3.75) version of FSUIPC. I read through the readme and couldn't find anything to help. I went to the website mentioned but could not find the file there to verify the version available for download. Texting with a controller with his frequency tuned to COM1 and in the Com1 text area of FSINN did not result in the message. Thank you for your [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance. - Brian
Brian Benscoter 1044312 Posted January 21, 2008 at 11:34 PM Author Posted January 21, 2008 at 11:34 PM UPDATE: Tuned Com1 again to 122.80. If I type the text in FSINN Unicom "box" I get the generated message. If I type the text in Com1 "box" I do not get the message. Even though I am tuned to 122.80 am I to type text in the Com1 box? My apologies if I missed this in the docomeents. I have read through the complete PRC prior to joining and I just printed it out to read it again off-line. Thank you. - Brian
Wycliffe Barrett Posted January 22, 2008 at 09:56 AM Posted January 22, 2008 at 09:56 AM Ben I'm not sure whethere your reporting a problem with FSinn or with your flight sim. Anyway if its FSinn related and as you like printing can I suggest that you get the manual for FSinn and all your questions will be answered in there. To be clear when on unicomm, you only need to typr in the chat window text box and it will be sent. If and ATC is on freq and you are only using chat to communicate ensure your radio in teh aircarft is tuned to the ATC freq (EGFF APProach 125.850) and then type in the chat window text line to transmit. Brian Benscoter 1044312 Posted January 23, 2008 at 12:41 AM Author Posted January 23, 2008 at 12:41 AM Sir, Thank you for replying. I have printed out the FSInn manual (no surprise right!). Could not find anything in there re: this. I think you have solved my problem though...I was tuning Com1 to 122.80 and then opening the chat and selecting the unicom tab and then typing. From what I understand I don't need to select a tab prior to typing in the text entry area, just click a tab to read what was sent to All, Unicom, Com1, etc. That will solve the message problem because when I had clicked on the Com1 tab prior to typing I did not get the message. If I have misunderstood, please advise. Thank you again for taking the time to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist me. - Brian

Brian Benscoter 1044312 Posted January 23, 2008 at 11:56 AM Author Posted January 23, 2008 at 11:56 AM Funny you should say that ("new addiction")....I just ordered 2 more Gig of memory last night from crucial.com ! I have been playing around with flightsim for too many years; it was time to get serious and really learn, hence Vatsim. Thank you for your help, hope to see you in the skies soon. - Brian

I have learned vastly more in the last three years than I ever learned in the previous 20. It is indeed "getting serious" about it but it's also the very best thing I ever did FS-wise. When people ask "what is the best add-on for FS?" I always reply "Vatsim!". Welcome, your journey has just begun Bill Casey
