Michal Rok Posted January 31, 2008 at 05:29 AM Posted January 31, 2008 at 05:29 AM Hi, Thanks for the suggestions. 1. The problem with NOTAM center is the supply of NOTAMs from real life. The source I use is limited in capacity and won't let me query for more FIRs/countries. If I do, I risk being cut off completely and it is uneasy to find an alternative source. I even approached the real life air traffic agency in Warsaw for NOTAM feed, but could only offer very expensive options. If you have a good NOTAM source with no performance/capacity limitations, let me know and I'll be more than happy to expand the NOTAM center. 1a. NOTAMs in PDF format. They were there and were lost in the process of transition from EUroute to vroute. I can restore them if people are interested. 2. I approached this topic a number of times and I couldn't see any computationally reasonable solution. 3. This is partly possible with the vroute.info premium, the next release - I mean a detailed, zoomable map showing your route. But also today you can have this. Take a look at the Flight Progress Card (the waypoint list) and you will notice a two-letter acronym of the FIR you are entering next to the first waypoint that is inside the new FIR. Does this solve the issue? Michal vroute.net founder
Michal Rok Posted January 31, 2008 at 08:47 PM Author Posted January 31, 2008 at 08:47 PM 1. The source I use is limited in capacity and won't let me query for more FIRs/countries. I see. I thought the problem was only with the VACCs. What kind of a feed, format etc. does the system require? I can keep my eyes and ears open.. Basically, any website where you can type the ICAO and get all raw NOTAMs, and where the owner does not mind being queried every day for 200 airports will do, I can offer advertising for that supplier in exchange for the data. 2. I approached this topic a number of times and I couldn't see any computationally reasonable solution. That is understandable. Perhaps another similar feature would be to be able to adjust the departure time on ATC coverage page, so one could for example check ATC availability for a given route the next day. Yes. Unfortunately, the ATC availability page is based on data that are anyway calculated only for 24 hours in advance. Paul Byrne Posted February 25, 2008 at 03:06 PM Posted February 25, 2008 at 03:06 PM Hi Michal, For the US, this website is available: https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/distribution/home.html They allow you to retreive 50 airports at a time. Not sure if they have a direct feed to poll all the info, but hopefully, this could help you out. Cheers! Paul.
Paul Byrne Posted February 26, 2008 at 11:54 PM Posted February 26, 2008 at 11:54 PM Hi, Actually, this website will provide NOTAMs for any airport. Cheers!
Johnathon Neilsen 955672 Posted February 27, 2008 at 05:43 AM Posted February 27, 2008 at 05:43 AM https://www.notams.jcs.mil/ I dont know how helpful this could be but you insert the airport name and get your NOTAMS from there. We use it at VATUAE for our NOTAMS. Cheers!
Michal Rok Posted March 2, 2008 at 09:54 AM Author Posted March 2, 2008 at 09:54 AM These websites have strong policy of not allowing software programs to fetch their data in an automatic way. Michal vroute.net founder
Michal Rok Posted March 2, 2008 at 04:19 PM Author Posted March 2, 2008 at 04:19 PM Printing is quite simple, especially that I programmed it once already, so I might bring it back one day. The option of allowing VACCs to put NOTAMs into vroute without automatic feed is feasible. The only reason it is not there yet is that the setup process for new VACC is currently quite time consuming for me, so I couldn't easily add 50 new VACCs in a week, unless I stopped washing my kids and going to work Michal vroute.net founder
Michal Rok Posted March 2, 2008 at 05:38 PM Author Posted March 2, 2008 at 05:38 PM The new release of vroute (still under construction) will enable a number of cute features; but there's nothing specific done yet. Michal Rok Posted March 9, 2008 at 05:20 PM Author Posted March 9, 2008 at 05:20 PM OK, I've was pointed to a suprisingly simple solution re: NOTAM feed. It should enable any interested party (VACC I mean) to publish NOTAMs in vroute and to get NOTAMs from real life for their airports. Stand by for more info - candidates for testing (new VACCs) wanted. Michal vroute.net founder
