hi people ,

first i want to thank you all for the forum and especially the FAQ section which i found a very useful answers for my questions

but i have a problem in logging into the VATSIM using VRC

i go to connect as usual and type all the nessery information i need like the ID and the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word and the position and so on , than i click connect and it keeps saying "connection to Network " without any further action .

note : i use the university wireless internet connection to log in , so maybe the problem is caming from there , so if its correctly the problem , could you tell me the ports i have to open in Windows firewall > Adavced > Network connection settings

info about my PC

Dell Latitude D 630

Windows XP sp2

256 Detected VGA Card ( Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset )

1 GB rams

VRC 1.2.1

Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.0.119 ( Open all the ports for the VRC)

thanks and have a good day ,,,

Have patience, Abdelrahman, not everyone is sitting here waiting to respond to questions.

My guess is that the university firewall is blocking ports. The required ports are listed in the VRC manual.

Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy

Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC

If the university is blocking the ports and it isn't the firewall on your laptop, then you will have to contact the university to get them unblocked.
