Samuel Chetty 1002608 Posted February 19, 2008 at 12:35 AM Posted February 19, 2008 at 12:35 AM It appears as though the default KLAX scenery in FS9 is now out of date . I have not been able to find an up-to-date freeware scenery file on the internet with all taxiways corresponding with the currnet KLAX diagram Is VATSIM using the new scenery? If so, is there a up-to-date freeware file avalible somewhere? Thank You, Samuel Chetty

You're probably not going to find anything out there yet that is current and corresponds to the new layout that LAX has. Most of the changes went in after all the scenery was released. I haven't seen any updates for the main ones (Cloud9, Blue Sky Scenery, Simflyers, etc.), so the only thing we can do, is wait. I'm pretty sure one of the big designers will release an updated version. Gottfried! Speak up, mate! now's your chance! BL. Samuel Chetty 1002608 Posted February 19, 2008 at 01:12 AM Author Posted February 19, 2008 at 01:12 AM So, on VATSIM, is the old KLAX taxiway layout still in use?
Brad Littlejohn Posted February 19, 2008 at 01:18 AM Posted February 19, 2008 at 01:18 AM So, on VATSIM, is the old KLAX taxiway layout still in use? For now, yes. No Taxiway AC, 25L is where it originally was, and no other movements of taxiways. Until some major scenery comes out for it, we can't advise anyone to get it (if freeware), plus we'd have to hope that MS updates their scenery in their next release of MSFS, otherwise the same problem will exist there. Anthony Atkielski 985811 Posted February 19, 2008 at 02:20 AM Posted February 19, 2008 at 02:20 AM Apart from moving 25L south (from what I understand), what other changes have been made at LAX? The Cloud9 scenery I have is superlative (if a bit slow), but I seriously doubt that it will ever be updated.
Mike Evans Posted February 19, 2008 at 02:35 AM Posted February 19, 2008 at 02:35 AM There is now a parallel taxiway between 25R & 25L, or there will be when it's all done Mike Evans
Brad Littlejohn Posted February 19, 2008 at 08:17 AM Posted February 19, 2008 at 08:17 AM Also, 25L has been widened to 200ft wide, to accomodate the A380. Various taxiways have also been shifted/rebuilt to feed into taxiway AC. BL. Brad Littlejohn ZLA Senior Controller
Melvin Nimer 979430 Posted February 19, 2008 at 07:30 PM Posted February 19, 2008 at 07:30 PM I haven't tried it yet, but can't anyone with AFCAD take the last and best version of KLAX and modify it with the moved and expanded 25L plus add the taxiways? It can't be that hard. I've certainly done it for KSLC. Melvin Nimer - I1 ZLC Events Director
