Steve Willis 1027702 Posted February 29, 2008 at 04:36 PM Posted February 29, 2008 at 04:36 PM Time permitting, please investigate "range of aircraft" set on 100+ miles on the EFIS / MAP whilst flying online. 350kts speed. With ServerInfo in aid, knowing traffic was on the TNCM tarmac, and in vincinity ....traffic 'appears' late on screen even at 20 miles?? It could be just Net Lag?, last flight ..nothing showed, at all, with 200 plus miles range set on EFIS map ... i know i p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ed traffic in range from above. Need a bit more scope -: Tools exist to compensate at this moment. Thanks.
Keith Smith Posted February 29, 2008 at 05:32 PM Posted February 29, 2008 at 05:32 PM Steve, Out of interest, when you start xplane, do you see a warning from Xsquawkbox regarding the number of multiplayer aircraft?
Steve Willis 1027702 Posted February 29, 2008 at 05:48 PM Author Posted February 29, 2008 at 05:48 PM Steve, Out of interest, when you start xplane, do you see a warning from Xsquawkbox regarding the number of multiplayer aircraft? Number set below 8 { red warning screen by XS?) on start up? Only if prefs are "flicked". I have Aircraft set on 20. Traffic appears fine when in visual, no problem. It's lack of ability to see 200+ miles for example, on the i EFIS even though range is set as such.? Serverinfo helps see ahead. (-:
Keith Smith Posted February 29, 2008 at 06:08 PM Posted February 29, 2008 at 06:08 PM Fair enough. Multiplayer aircraft needs to be set to at least 2 (no benefit to it being any higher) for TCAS to work at all, that's the reason I asked. Obviously that's not your issue here. I doubt you'll see aircraft 100+ miles away on the TCAS because I don't think the servers will send you data for aircraft that far away in any case. However, you mentioned that you didn't see a plane on the TCAS that was 'directly above' you, so that's why I asked the first question. In short, it's no mystery that you can't see planes at very long range, but I don't know why they're not appearing for you at short distances. Steve Willis 1027702 Posted March 24, 2008 at 01:35 AM Author Posted March 24, 2008 at 01:35 AM Does anybody have a problem with Com 2 radio and XS recognizing the radio frequencies.?? Com 1 is fine, but if i change over to Com2, it appears XS doesn't detect it. ( Could be something i am doing wrong? ) I have yet to try using the // commands in flight. I use the mouse and button to dial in the frequencies in flight. Click on com2 and nothing happens. 124.800 remains on freq from com1 after clicking over to com2. ATC and voice ... no detection and no voice room. ( so it seems ) Will try and confirm this problem when i get a chance with time to test online. Wade Williams 877539 Posted March 24, 2008 at 02:30 AM Posted March 24, 2008 at 02:30 AM I'll have to double-check, but right now I believe XSB only supports COM1.

Keith Smith Posted March 24, 2008 at 12:40 PM Posted March 24, 2008 at 12:40 PM I think it's in the readme that comes with XSB. XSB has never supported com2.
