Michael Bonanno 984105 Posted March 7, 2008 at 05:28 PM Posted March 7, 2008 at 05:28 PM I have looked around a bit, but I can not seem to find a solution to this problem. It seems that ActiveSky is using weather all the time that is an hour old. For example, the current time is 1726Z, but ActiveSky says that Active wx is 1550Z. I have Online Updates and VATSIM Online Weather selected in the options so I figure it should keep up to date, and weather updates every 10 minutes. This is pretty annoying in rapidly changing conditions. I was wondering if there are any fixes for this problem. Thanks in advance for the help, Michael Michael Bonanno, VATSIM Supervisor
Michael Bonanno 984105 Posted March 7, 2008 at 05:30 PM Author Posted March 7, 2008 at 05:30 PM UPDATE - It finally loads the 1650Z weather at 1730Z. It seems it takes approximately half an hour to update to current METAR. Michael Bonanno, VATSIM Supervisor
Dave Opper Posted May 3, 2008 at 12:38 PM Posted May 3, 2008 at 12:38 PM What are your update rates set at? Mine check for updates every 15 minutes. Not all wx reporting stations update at that rate but i check anyway Dave ESSB Dave Opper HiFi Support Team
Michael Bonanno 984105 Posted May 3, 2008 at 06:37 PM Author Posted May 3, 2008 at 06:37 PM I have update interval set to 10 minutes. So I am not too sure why it takes so long to get a current METAR. Michael Bonanno, VATSIM Supervisor
Dave Opper Posted May 3, 2008 at 08:00 PM Posted May 3, 2008 at 08:00 PM Yes I see what you mean. I just did a ASX flight. Th weather was actually the same out the window and at the airport. Also FSX weather reported correct but the metar didnt move. From what I have read and here are my settings... FSinn weather and precip is disabled. ASX is active but i haven't ticked the Vatsim downloads. I beleive that corrects the problem but you need to load the flightplan also into ASX. I'll try that when my kid is asleep.
