Leslie Jarrett 913775 Posted March 19, 2008 at 10:40 AM Posted March 19, 2008 at 10:40 AM I have an idea for a VATAME promotional Video to help promote the use of VATSIM in the region. There will of course be the opening credits with VATAME logio etc. Then set to a map of the VATAME region the centre piece is a comp[Mod - Happy Thoughts] with N S E W Then each point i.e. North will show some ATC from that part of the region for about 90 seconds in split screen i.e. from a pilots view and from the ATC view. The pilot view would be say of a middle easter airport or central african , southern african or Mauritius to represent the Indian ocean. The atc would show TWR etc operating if you drew a line on the map you could say start the flight in Dubai then show arrival at Mauritius and then from Mauritius to Cape Town and then from Cape town to Nairobi and then from Nairobi back to Dubai. Each leg could be flown by a call sign from that region that has a real world flight. That is the concept of the video to show that VATAME exists and can provide the on-line experience for our region. The best part I believe is the simultaneos showing of a pilot and an atc controller as a split screen to show both sides of VATSIM i.e. the on-line experience for the pilot and the controllers making that on-line experience possible through their ATC screens. Leslie Jarrett 913775 Posted April 10, 2008 at 12:15 PM Author Posted April 10, 2008 at 12:15 PM This should be completed at the weekend as I had to make some alterations to try and fit some things in. To summarise the script for this video is now (A) Opening credit - VATAME Logo (B) Map of Region with note of number of countries etc © A screenshot of a major airport at each of the countries (70) (D) what time left to keep within music track will have a VAcc/diviosion summary and web site links. (E) running time for video a whopping 6.5 minutes (F) music is by an African Artist I have just discovered , I wanted to use my kenyan friend but I hav elost contact with him since he moved away from being my nextdoor neighbour. He would have written a special piece of music unique for VATAME. Okay watch for it on YOU TUBE very soon.

Ahmed Hasan 958620 Posted April 13, 2008 at 01:43 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 01:43 PM Nice Video however I think it missed a lot of sceneries also It must have included some ATCs voices + Some AI Traffic instead of just empty Ramps at most airports Good Luck Ahmed H[Mod - Happy Thoughts]an
Leslie Jarrett 913775 Posted April 13, 2008 at 03:07 PM Author Posted April 13, 2008 at 03:07 PM I only did screenshots of the airports mainly default fs2004 to give the whole area some coverage if I had concentrated on ATC then only three parts would have been shown. It was a trade off.
Tony Kovacs 958372 Posted April 13, 2008 at 05:08 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 05:08 PM Very nice video, the music is a nice touch. Unfortunately you missed FZAA and FCBB which are the two primary airports at VATDRC and missed FAJS which is one of the primary airports at VATSAF. Now all we need is someone to create scenery for all of these places and we're all set. Tony Kovacs MOVCON - Movement Control Instructor http://www.vatcaf.org "Who Cares Who's the Best!" Until heaven is open 24/7 just waiting for you to screw up this is all just a game.

John Koranteng Posted May 2, 2008 at 11:18 PM Posted May 2, 2008 at 11:18 PM Congratulations. Very nice video....has inspired me to continue ATC training and get our region more representation. Question...what does it take to develop high quality (flytampa & aerosoft GAPs )sceneries in terms of finance & material requirements Photos, docs etc?? I have neither the time nor skill but would be more than willing to help start a few projects....with DGAA of course John KVATSIM Membership Department - Data Auditing[email protected]
