Peter Preston 815690 Posted May 4, 2005 at 10:09 PM Posted May 4, 2005 at 10:09 PM Can anyone help please with a problem? I have so far managed very well with the FSUIPC pre-3.x edition. Recently however, after a software download which seemed to go wrong - though, of course, that may be quite unconnected with the problem - I have been unable to use FSUIPC 2.9x in order to set the throttle values, a facility normally available on the "Joysticks" page of FSUIPC, subsection 3. Hitherto I have opened section 3 of the "Joysticks" page, checked the "Map to four throttles" box and then been able to set values in throttle 1 by altering the yoke throttle position for minimum, maximum and idle and using the buttons provided to set those values. Now evey time I click the "set" buttons the values below all turn to zero. I can, of course, re-set to the original FSUIPC default values but these allow me no idle facility. I am using FS2002. From Pete Dowson's extensive notes on FSUIPC, it seems that there may in these cases be some error in the FS2002 cfg. file but so far I have searched in vain to find what the error may be. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thank you Peter Preston
Dave Wild Posted May 7, 2005 at 06:44 PM Posted May 7, 2005 at 06:44 PM Was the software install anything to do with FS Peter? If you go to the joystick claibration window does the throttle indicator move correctly? Have you tried deleting fsuipc.ini from the modules folder and then recreating it? Have a look in the FS2002.cfg file at the joystick sections, do the joystick(s) entries look correct for the joystick(s) you have? MAIN POINT Have you got "LOCKED=1" as the first line below each Joystick section? This stops FS changing the settings done through FSUIPC. If that line is not present do the following. In FS2002 go to Control [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignments and make sure the controls you want are [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to your joystick(s). Set the sensitivity to mid way and null zone to zero. OK out of the settings to save them and close FS. Now enter the LOCKED=1 line in the fs2002.cfg file and save it. Then open FS and reset your stick with FSUIPC, it should now work (fingers crossed ) HTH
Peter Preston 815690 Posted May 16, 2005 at 10:20 PM Author Posted May 16, 2005 at 10:20 PM Dave, Sorry I haven't replied earlier and thank you for your much appreciated help. I have now managed to solve the problem, I had realised but the single throttle mapping box was not checked on page 1 of FSUIPC "Joysticks" section. As soon as I checked that, page three worked normally. Thanks again. Peter Preston
