Mark Richards Posted April 22, 2008 at 11:10 AM Posted April 22, 2008 at 11:10 AM This Sunday the VATNZ SNO (Sunday Night Operations) sees our Controllers staff as many towers as we can in the north half of the North Island as this night is Tower Controllers' Revenge. To create a feeling of total control, we're planning to staff the following positions: Auckland Tower (NZAA) Hamilton Tower (NZHN) Tauranga Tower (NZTG) Rotorua Tower (NZRO) Gisborne Tower (NZGS) Whenuapai Tower (NZWP) (if all others open) We will be supporting the towers with Auckland Control (NZAA_APP) and Christchurch Control (NZCH-A_CTR) positions. Routes between these airports are very short and will suit a wide range of aircraft, IFR or VFR and we encourage pilots to fly into as many of the airports as they can in the one night. All the airports can handle up to Cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] C aircraft, although you will have your work cut out for you in a Boeing or an Airbus on these short sectors so why not consider leaving them in the hanger and get in some recreational flying and take out a light twin, single or even your favourite helicopter? Please indicate your intentions by booking your flights on vRoute: more bookings help attract more traffic, and showcase VATNZ to the rest of the VATSIM world! Departure Time: Sunday 20th April 2008 19:00-23:00 NZST (07:00-11:00 UTC) Flight Time: Legs between these airports are all under 45 minutes, how many can you get in? Visit the VATNZ Webpage for full details. Mark Richards (811451) Auckland, New Zealand
