Chris Makris Posted April 26, 2008 at 03:22 PM Posted April 26, 2008 at 03:22 PM Yesterday I was controlling Greek Fir and also Nicosia controll was online. When the aircrafts were approaching the boundry between Greek and Cyprus Fir the next frequency Indicator was changing to the Unicom freq instead of Nicosia. The boundry line was highlightes and Nicosia Control was on teh tag drop down freq. Any ideas why this might happen? Below is the parts from the ese that declares the Greek FIR the Cyprus FIR and the coordination points between them. Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted April 26, 2008 at 03:58 PM Posted April 26, 2008 at 03:58 PM Chris is this a one time event or it happened more then once? What altitude was the aircraft and course? EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers
Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted April 26, 2008 at 04:05 PM Posted April 26, 2008 at 04:05 PM Just a guess: maybe it has something to do with the doubled use of the sectorline for Cyprus. You can use the debug tool (left click on the altitude). ES should display the calculated sectors and altitudes, there you should be able to narrow down where the problem comes from. Chris Makris Posted April 26, 2008 at 04:34 PM Author Posted April 26, 2008 at 04:34 PM Todor, Had happend on all aircrafts that were going to Nicosia control, around 20 yesterday. All of them where from FL310 up to FL370. The course was on the correct airway towards exit point AGAPI. As another controller told me the same happend with him but when LTBB was online. Sthephan, I will try it next time. Any sugestions on how not to use the same sector line twice? The borders are a straight line there. THe only walkaround I can think of is of using a point to make a small triangle.
Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted April 26, 2008 at 04:37 PM Posted April 26, 2008 at 04:37 PM I think you just nailed the problem. Did You want to define the Cypris sector only by this single line? Then the sector is a line and the aircraft probably never being inside the sector, as there is no 3-dimensional sector. You need to at least build a small rectangle for every sector. Chris Makris Posted April 26, 2008 at 04:46 PM Author Posted April 26, 2008 at 04:46 PM That might be the problem indeed... I would make a try to see if this solves the problem Thank you
Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted April 26, 2008 at 05:53 PM Posted April 26, 2008 at 05:53 PM Chris a sector to be defined and ES to use it it has to be a CLOSED object. You can see how I did it. I don't need the exact border of the all sectors, just the border line with my sectors. So I just put some general points to defined it, but it must be a CLOSED object. Just build a point somewhere to defind a general outlook of the sector. (see LTBB and LTAA FIR ) EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers
Chris Makris Posted April 26, 2008 at 06:59 PM Author Posted April 26, 2008 at 06:59 PM Thank you all, That was the problem, I defined the sectors as closed object and everything is working correctly now
