Looking for a calllsigns available for VA

Recommended Posts

Hello

Our VA Cougar airline

http://www.cougarvirtual.com/

Is recently VA partner of Vatsim. Our callsign are UKCxxx. So far, UKC seems to be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to UK Direct World Cargo.

I downloaded the servinfo data from January 2008 .

How can I check which callsigns would be available for a link to Cougar airlines and what data should we provide you for the next update ?

Friendly

GCR is the identifer for Cougar Leasing. Radio callsign Speedcat. The real world website wasn't very informative. Is that the company you are running a virtual version of?

I don't think so, Taken from their website:

Cougar does not and is not intended to represent any 'real world' avaition company or organization and as such is not restricted to resembling operations, fleet or routes; Cougar is purely a virtual environment that caters for all Microsoft Flight Simulator users from novice upward.

In that case I'd go with GCR and Speedcat. Make sure you put the spoken callsign in your remarks, as most controllers probably won't have a clue!

"Cougar does not and is not intended to represent any 'real world' avaition company or organization - it's just named exactly like one and uses the same voice callsign"

Cougar Virtual was born without any prior knowledge about the either 'gone bust' or 'bought out' real world Cougar Airlines - It was only until we opened the doors, so to speak, on IVAO that we found that Speedcat was the 'old' Company callsign and decided to use it....

Ivan, you are correct, the 'old' Cougar Airlines fleet consisted of 727's..... Our (as "Cougar does not and is not intended to represent any 'real world' aviation company or organization") fleet is "based on some of the very best models available to the flight simulator community from the Liberty XL2 SEP to the Mighty Queen of the skies, The Boeing 747-400, affording members an 'as real as it gets' environment and a harty choice of airframes" - Something that the 'old' real world Cougar Airlines would never have. (Thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake by the way.. )

So... in conclusion - I'll stand by the "Cougar does not and is not intended to represent any 'real world' aviation company or organization"

If you would like to find out more, visit http://CougarVirtual.com

Just for info - The UKC ICAO was our IVAO ICAO which we hope to keep here on VATSIM. As we're not the 'old' Cougar Airlines we are refraining from using the 'GCR' ICAO, although we may look at this at a later date.
