Green headphones appear in proper locations my call sign is the only one showing up in the Contacts area. Any ideas/ Any suggestions? Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted May 6, 2008 at 05:46 AM Posted May 6, 2008 at 05:46 AM Ok, I understand you are getting connected to the network ok, you connect to the voice service ok, but you don't hear anything on voice? Does the pilots hear you? Check your output device (speakers, headset), check your selected device for speaker and headset both in Euroscope and Windows audio settings. Do you have USB headset or two soundcard, if yes, check again the selected output device for primary and secondary voice. Also change the voice server from rw.liveatc.net, I know the server had some technical issues recently, and test again. Also...by saying your Callsign is the only one shown in the contact area, you mean the Controllers List or the Voice Channel list? Nick Maggio 812342 Posted May 6, 2008 at 12:02 PM Author Posted May 6, 2008 at 12:02 PM Todor, All hardware checks fine, both USB mike and headphones. Sound Card is functioning properly. Upon first installation, I did receive an ATIS over both soundcard or headphone. Now the audio has stopped. Using SquawkBox3 with MS Flight Sim both mike and headphones are working properly. Controllers can hear me and I can hear them. It seems that all indications, according to the user manual, are showing me properly connected to Euroscope. By "Contact Area" I mean the "Connected Users" section of the audio panel. What other voiceserver is available for US3? Rw.liveatc.net is the only voiceserver showing for my area. I use Euroscope to monitor activities, so I have not place a call to a pilot. The same audio difficulty occured with VRC. However, I was able to listen to a Contoller by using .mon on the command line. Euroscope does not seem to have a comparable command language. Wycliffe Barrett Posted May 6, 2008 at 12:14 PM Posted May 6, 2008 at 12:14 PM Nick Have a look in the Euroscope wiki or th eonline help files, I'm sure you will find your solution there. I havent got my copy of the manual with me here in the office so cant give a definitive answer. The manual is fairly comprehensive. Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted May 6, 2008 at 12:30 PM Posted May 6, 2008 at 12:30 PM Nick you can do the same as VRC, right-click over some controller callsign and select monitor or listen freq. Try that and see if you can hear something. Also do you have firewall? How did you check the ATIS, you connected to ATIS station or did listen your ATIS? Did you check the ES voice Settings? I'm not sure if SB3 uses the same port for air-ground communication, but if you have the same problem with VRC, it may not be a ES problem, but some port/connection problem. Wycliffe isn't the manual copy of the online Wiki? (I'm really asking, I'm not sure....I can't even remember how the manual looked like ...so far for being useful beta member ) EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers
Wycliffe Barrett Posted May 6, 2008 at 02:21 PM Posted May 6, 2008 at 02:21 PM Todor I'm pretty sure your right, I just downloaded the pdf and printed it here in work. I like to have hard copy as I can write notes on the backs of pages also for support I always find it easier to process information from hard copy than online or onscreen pdf's. I have a copy of the Fsinn manual here in work and at home, sad geek that I am. I wont be getting into full Euroscope support as I haven't gotten enough knowledge of it yet, but i may pop in here once in awhile and offer help where I can. Nick Maggio 812342 Posted May 7, 2008 at 12:28 AM Author Posted May 7, 2008 at 12:28 AM Guys, That did the trick. Doing a right click on the controller frequency and selecting monitor made the communication in the headphones work properly. Is this the standard way of listening to voice? Normally, will you hear voice by setting up the controller on the audio panel and selecting "Rec Headphones, or do you need to also right click and select monitor to hear the audio? Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted May 7, 2008 at 08:02 AM Posted May 7, 2008 at 08:02 AM No, you can simply listen to the freq. by right-clicking on the controller and selecting "Listen to Frequency" (but you will not receive any text communications) EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers
