Curtis Kreklau 870597 Posted May 10, 2005 at 05:55 AM Posted May 10, 2005 at 05:55 AM The good guys at TGIF have arranged for their group of VA pilots to execute a fly-in of gigantic proportions into CYVR on Friday May 27th, 2005. To find out all about TGIF visit their website: http://www.vcair.com/events/tgif_main.php They usually expect about 60-80 flights all arriving within a 2 hour timespan, 0200Z-0400Z, with departures leaving between 0330Z and 0430Z. I hope we have Canada's support for this fly-in and your traffic is welcomed as always as this will only add to the usual fun at our YVR Friday event. Stay tuned for more information! Curtis Kreklau 870597 Posted May 28, 2005 at 09:57 PM Author Posted May 28, 2005 at 09:57 PM What a fantastic event last night!!!!! Thanks to all who showed up, I counter 124 that came in or out of CYVR while I was on CYVR_S_TWR!!!!! We had a max of 11 CZVR controllers online with 22 controllers between ZVR, ZSE and ZEG!!!!! What a great showing guys! I'm sure many of you have wonderful screenshots from the night from both sides of the coin, ATC and Pilot, so we'd love to see them. Head on over to the CZVR forum (http://www.czvr.ca) to post them and to talk about the event and give your thoughts, comments, questions and stories!!! To all pilots who visited CYVR, CZVR or Canadian airspace for the first time: I hope the event was enjoyable for you and that we will see you again!! We appreciate every bit of traffic! CZVR looks forward to hosting more awesome events like this in the future and as always everyone will be welcome to join in! I have been appointed as the Events Coordinator for CZVR so I will be the one you hear from and the one to talk to on these matters in the future. I hope this is the start of a great summer in CZVR!!! Thanks again all!! Curtis Kreklau Student 1 CZVR FIR Events Coordinator
