David Saunders 818672 Posted June 13, 2008 at 11:39 AM Posted June 13, 2008 at 11:39 AM I want to start using Eurscope to mentor students on different positions, but i havnmt found a way yet to set the airport runways without setting primary frequency, is there a way? I would like to be able to see what they are seeing with there Lists, at the moment I cant, because if i set prim, it seems to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ume iam controlling and has my freq up, but when mentoring I dont want a prim freq, i only want to listen to what they are saying, and not have pilots call me. non-discript self importance signature
Matthew Reeve 914466 Posted June 13, 2008 at 01:13 PM Posted June 13, 2008 at 01:13 PM Dave The active runway is actually independent of frequency... just that the EGTT file will set the active runways depending on which sector you control, but you can still set the runway from the Active Runways dialog in Other SET or the runway icon next to Quick Set, and then the columns on the left select what goes into the dep/arr list. You can add the metar via F2 as you would have done with VRC. If they're using Euroscope, then you could connect to a proxy server on their machine. Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted June 13, 2008 at 01:26 PM Posted June 13, 2008 at 01:26 PM The lists are always based on your ES, so you can't see what the trainee sees. If you set the active sectors and airports and runways as the trainee does (for which you might need to disable the option which sets active sectors based on the ESE file automatically), you might see most of what the trainee sees, but still not for example his sector exit list, as you don't track the aircrafts. David Saunders 818672 Posted June 13, 2008 at 01:30 PM Author Posted June 13, 2008 at 01:30 PM Matthew, When i log in as EGKK_M_APP and the student as EGKK_T_APP , i dont set a primary because aircraft will be able to see me in there list which isn't ideal, if i then try to set the active runways, i set the runways on the right but cant select the runways on the left, so therefore nothing appears in the lists, if you see what i mean, Iam happy with the weather and all that. that works fine, it purely the runways and the list information that doesn't show up unless i select (PRIM FREQ). If i do select PRIM, the Student then appears as a number in the Controllers list instead of (KKA) which he displays when he is the only PRIM frequency for that frequency and I then appear in the controllers list for aircraft to see. i should have explained better what i was trying to achive. non-discript self importance signature
Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted June 13, 2008 at 01:35 PM Posted June 13, 2008 at 01:35 PM Other SET - General Settings - "Set active APT by owned sectors" should do the trick ... disable it for mentoring, as you need to set the owned sectors manually.
