VATME Division Updates & Changes

The VATSIM Middle East Division is currently undergoing some changes that will greatly improve the way things are run here. These changes are:

  • Mr. Daniel Doorgakant is no longer VATME's Director of Training Operations (DTO). He will be replaced by Ms. Sana Qteishat who has real world experience and is currently a real world ATC Instructor in Amman, Jordan.

There will no longer be vACCs in VATME; we will be changing to an FIR System. Each FIR will be hosted on VATME's new website and will be headed and supervised only by an FIR Chief. The reason we are going ahead with this method is for ease of management and the ability for the FIR Chief to focus solely on operations as opposed to web hosting, design, and hiring more staff members. Members of FIRs will not be restricted to that particular FIR, as in a vACC. They can operate anywhere in VATME so long as they continue to operate frequently in their home FIR. (It will not be considered as "Guest" ATC to do ATC in another FIR in this division).

Mr. Alex "AJ" Long has been [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned as VATUAE FIR Chief in place of Mr. Lenzen who has real world obligations to commit to. We applaud Mr. Lenzen for all of this hard work with VATUAE, and will continue to look forward to his great contributions to VATME in the near future. (Can anyone say "new sector file?")

vACC Kuwait is now closed. Please email
[email protected] for information.

VATME will be getting a new website with all the works. Stay tuned for it! This website will soon be obsolete.

We have a domain now: www.vatme.net! Remember it! All staff will soon get @VATME.net emails.

For more information, or if you have any questions, please email the director at [email protected] !
