Michelle Mendoza 1068614 Posted July 22, 2008 at 10:50 AM Author Posted July 22, 2008 at 10:50 AM So i've put in Vox Server box Europe-CW and voice2.vacc-sag.org in Vox channel but that's obviously not right. What am i looking for in the list you gave, which has server names and IP addresses? thanks
Holger Illgen 941708 Posted July 22, 2008 at 11:56 AM Posted July 22, 2008 at 11:56 AM in vox server you have to put voice2.vacc-sag.org (or voice1.vacc-sag.org or what the station uses), in vox channel comes the station name like EDDM_N_APP or LIMM_CTR or the like PS: frequency with full 3 digits behind the decimal (128.020 or 129.100 for instance), position name I always use the same as vox channel
Michelle Mendoza 1068614 Posted July 22, 2008 at 12:39 PM Author Posted July 22, 2008 at 12:39 PM I had already tried it this way, but I get the message: Invalide Voice Server Host Name it must consist of only letters, commas, underscores [etc, etc.], which doesn't make sense as it only contains these and not anything else
Holger Illgen 941708 Posted July 22, 2008 at 01:13 PM Posted July 22, 2008 at 01:13 PM http:// in front? (not necessary, would lead to error) accidental space at the end? can you do a screenshot?
Michelle Mendoza 1068614 Posted July 22, 2008 at 02:31 PM Author Posted July 22, 2008 at 02:31 PM I just cut and paste from the table: voice2.vacc-sag.org 88.198.64.7 was just trying to follow the example in the manual can't screen shot at the moment, I'm afraid. not to worry, there's no activity at the moment, and i have been seeing the text messages at the bottom ok
Holger Illgen 941708 Posted July 22, 2008 at 02:47 PM Posted July 22, 2008 at 02:47 PM the IP is wrong as far as I can judge position name EDDM_N_APP frequency 128.020 vox server voice1.vacc-sag.org vox channel EDDM_N_APP is one example config I can give you from memory
Michelle Mendoza 1068614 Posted July 22, 2008 at 03:06 PM Author Posted July 22, 2008 at 03:06 PM This are the ones i can find: Europe-CW voice2.vacc-sag.org Nurnberg Finland voice.vatsim.fi Finland - Sponsored by Verkkokauppa.com and NBL Solutions Liveatc rw.liveatc.net USA, California VATROC Hong Kong 152.104.96.225 Hong Kong Vatsim Spain Server spain.vatsim.net Spain UK-2 213.171.220.29 UK-2 I put in your version but it still gave me the message about invalid voice channel name
Michelle Mendoza 1068614 Posted July 22, 2008 at 03:17 PM Author Posted July 22, 2008 at 03:17 PM OK, so I typed in the addresses, instead of pasting them in, and the error messages have gone. There's no map or activity at the moment, so I don't know yet if it's worked, but at least some progresss...
Holger Illgen 941708 Posted July 22, 2008 at 05:03 PM Posted July 22, 2008 at 05:03 PM ok, most likely it was accidental space at the end? as I suggested above
David Zhong Posted July 23, 2008 at 07:47 AM Posted July 23, 2008 at 07:47 AM invalid voice channel name You need to right click on a controllers name in the controllers chat window and request ATIS. The first line of the ATIS will be something like: Voice server: rw1.vatpac.org/ml_twr In this example, put 'rw1.vatpac.org' in the server address and put 'ml_twr' as the channel name. If you're an actual controller, then this shouldn't be a problem... you should be able to put any name as the channel as long as it is approved by your local procedures.
