This time many of us flew, we were 18 flights (instead of the regular 5-6). I would like to thank the Portugeese controllers Pedro Rodrigues Joege Feitoria and Daniel Gomez. I emailed Mr. Rodrigues on thursday morning, and he showed up with his two colleagues to give us superb ATC. I am parked on the apron with ELY056 (Ran Finkels - VATIL6) and ELY731 (Israel Roth Who flew from his home cockpit as NFP while the FP was Kobi David - VATIL1). Behind me, at the gates we can see ELY357 (Dan Morero), ELY232 (Mickey Lip, this time with a METAL aircraft) and KLM317 (Eran Regestreif). Kobi and Israel take off (ELY371). Ran is starting to push. In the background we can see ELY109 (Elad Zeierman - VATIL9) and ELY050 (Meitar Lugasi). ELY 357 lined up. KLM731 holding short. ELY555 (Gil Gorni) holds short as KLM731 is starting it's roll. EL056 takes off. At this point I understand it's going to take a while for me to get airborne, so I go eat my dinner and take a shower... When I am back they are all airbone. I reconnect at the gate and get my clearance and taxi instructions. Holding short. Taking off. Turning to MONUR on ESP9N Departure. Here I am, ELY007 at the tail of the column. First plane has already landed. Cruising. Reaching FL230. Holding at FUNOR with ELY050. Even though I had a long distance between me and the column, the spacing requirements for LPMA made me spend some time in holds. ELY150 is here with us too (Asi Belo) ... Contunuing holding pattern. I am out of the hold, inbound FUN VOR. Madeira ahead. You can see on the FMC the next hold is already programmed. Porto Santo. Holding at FUN. What Happens now is really frustrating. I am holding at FUN for about 15 minutes, when I get a text message about LPMA_APP calling me on voice. So I alt-enter to get to window mode so I can communicate easily with ATC on text. There was some voice problem. After writing ATC I have a voice problem, I disconnected and re-connected, and voice came back to life. Mr. Pedro Rodrigues (Madeira Approach) clears me for the VOR-Visual approach for rwy05. I alt-enter again to get full screen view - and it never comes back. A Black screen! So I quit FS via the task manager, reload and reconnect. Pedro allows me to resume flight, but I lost my queue. When I realize it will take more time, and it's already 1am in Israel (and I have a niversity cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] at 8am) I just tell him I will disconnect and land offline.
