Steve Jones 971079 Posted August 5, 2008 at 09:34 AM Posted August 5, 2008 at 09:34 AM Have you read the PRC yet? All of your questions are answered there. On the VATSIM homepage, click where it says Pilot Training.

Larry James 901346 Posted August 5, 2008 at 10:27 AM Posted August 5, 2008 at 10:27 AM I've understand most of them now..........But Still I have one question, if suddenly a ATC online in the IFR I were, will UNICOM lead me to that channel???? If a controller appeared in the area where you are they would send you a contactme message. You will receive it text over the private channel. You would then tune their frequency and communicate from there. The unicom is pilot-pilot communication. -- L. James -- L. D. Norman Blackburn Posted August 5, 2008 at 10:27 AM Posted August 5, 2008 at 10:27 AM UNICOM is unstaffed. If a controller comes online they will initiate contact with you, asking you to tune to their frequency. Norman
John Owen 1070686 Posted August 5, 2008 at 11:31 AM Author Posted August 5, 2008 at 11:31 AM Thanks everybody......... How about if no ATC online??But I am near the destination......... Will the tower of the destination send me message to turn his channel???
Norman Blackburn Posted August 5, 2008 at 12:30 PM Posted August 5, 2008 at 12:30 PM The onus is on the pilot to tune to the appropriate tower. If for example you will soon be establishing on the ILS at Hong Kong and you see VHHH_TWR online then you should tune to their frequency and call them when established on the ILS.
