Yusuf Pulatov 1054147 Posted August 13, 2008 at 07:34 PM Posted August 13, 2008 at 07:34 PM im getting a brand new good computer, what do you think is a good computer that can run loads of addons with no h[Mod - Happy Thoughts]le, i currently get about 5-12 fps when there arent a lot of planes on the ground with good scenery like KATL, but if theres an event somewhere or something and theres a lot of planes my FPS goes down to 3, 4 , sometimes 1, what is the good computer that can run my FS with at least 30 FPS locked on? and tell me the price too please, give me the full specs, my spendable price is $1500

I opted for a motherboard that can go up to a Phenom processor, but other than that, stuck pretty much to it ([Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming you already have the case and are keeping any hard/optical drives). In my case, I did, and was keeping the PSU. YMMV now on cheaper processors and the nVidia 9800x series cards coming out, so no doubt this could be done with hardware newer than mine for around the same price, but this should give you a good place to start. Stephen Sculley-Beaman Posted August 13, 2008 at 11:25 PM Posted August 13, 2008 at 11:25 PM I suggest buying a mid-range dell with a good processor (preferably dual core, above 2.0 per core) and a mediocre video card with plenty of slots and room to grow. Then take a day trip to comp USA, buy a few gigs of ram, a top of the line video card, maybe a sound card if you'd like, and then put those in the PC. Odds are that you'll end up way under budget and have a PC that performs beautifully. That's what I did. Cost me only around 700 bucks: 350 for the computer and the flatscreen 20"; 350 for the upgrades which included a new case and power supply to handle the upgrades that I bought. Good luck

Shaun Paul Dobbs 1019770 Posted August 16, 2008 at 03:51 PM Posted August 16, 2008 at 03:51 PM The dell gamming computer has very good specs the only problum is that it overheats very easy which will limit your performence , I've heard that under a heavy load like FSX or Crysis that the cpu runs around a disgusting 40C that is not good when you just spent ll that money, I suggust for the sticker price you have listed and that you want it already built look at Velocity Micro , Cyberpower. These two brands are know for there out of box gaming beasts and although you could build your own gaming pc way better for less then your spending , its up to you but these two brands you can buy at bestbuy, or circuit city. Stephen Sculley-Beaman Posted August 16, 2008 at 04:03 PM Posted August 16, 2008 at 04:03 PM well overheating is a relatively simple issue to fix. Grab a few fans or other such items, hook 'em up and let 'em rip.

Orville Lewis 1017312 Posted August 17, 2008 at 12:42 AM Posted August 17, 2008 at 12:42 AM i got my computer for $900 (including a Monitor and Printer) and its all really good... except for the video card. I'm getting about 30fps in fs9 and 15 or so in fsx. I can get those WAY up by spending another $110 on a new video card on newegg. Vista rates my video card 4.0 and everything else 5.9. bty: off topic but 200TH POST!!! YA

Shawn Goldsworthy 925085 Posted September 14, 2008 at 04:24 AM Posted September 14, 2008 at 04:24 AM yup, thats why im planning on dual 9600GT cards, are they any good? You'll get better performance with 2 8800GT's as opposed to the 9600's and relatively the same price. Nvidia's model numbering can be confusing at times. The 9600 series are basically the new 8600's and the 9800's which are the best on the market right now are new 8800's.
