Roy Evans 1061333 Posted August 22, 2008 at 11:58 PM Posted August 22, 2008 at 11:58 PM Summary: Come one, come all! Colorado will be hosting the Democratic National Convention August 25th through the 28th this year in beautiful Denver, Colorado! With over 75,000 attendees, thousands of delegates, and hundreds of Democratic Leaders, the DNC is sure to increase the amount of traffic in and out of Denver, both on ground and in the air! ZDV will be staffing the Denver Area for this event on August 23rd, 2008 between 1900Z and 2300Z (1300-1700 MDT). Put your party preferences aside and come join the fun as the Democratic Party nominates their presidential candidate and potentially makes history! More Information: Pilots! Come enjoy the Rocky Mountains! We’re staffing 10-15 controllers for this event, from Denver International to Colorado Springs to Centennial Airport. What we need is YOU to come make the event a good time! Pilots that are flying into Denver International are requested to comply with all the current vZDV NOTAMS found at http://denartcc.org/?page=notams. Mainly, if you do not have the add-on scenery that adds Runway 16R/34L into KDEN, you can download some free scenery from our website at http://denartcc.org/?page=downloads. Any traffic into the Denver Area is greatly accepted, from News Choppers overflying the Pepsi Center and Invesco Field, to Business Jets transporting our elected leaders to and from the event, anything that flies, hovers, or pretends to is always welcome! For pilots that are new to VATSIM, please read http://www.vatsim.net/prc/. For help with any software issues, consult the PRC or check the VATSIM forums at http://forums.vatsim.net/. Any comments or feedback on the event would be greatly appreciated! Please email the address below with any questions or correspondence: [email protected] Pilots who are looking for a more realistic experience flying around the event are encouraged to comply with the following procedures: NOTAM FOR DNC EVENT: Link to NOTAM http://denartcc.org/forums/download/file.php?id=56 The NOTAM (basically a "TFR") will be in effect for the duration of the event. Pilots are only required to have the NOTAM printed out and reviewed to be granted permission into the "TFR". Any questions can be directed to [email protected] .
