Mark Peters 1016087 Posted September 12, 2008 at 04:58 AM Posted September 12, 2008 at 04:58 AM I've been a member of VATSIM for about a year, I guess, but I recently got Xplane 9 and tried online flight in X-Plane tonight for the first time. Seemed easier to set up than I thought it would be. But on to my question... Is it normal for X-Planers not to be able to hear the engines or sounds of other aircraft on the server? I couldn't hear a thing. Voice and my aircraft worked fine. Just curious. This is a little detail that, while not critical, would be a cool feature. It works in MSFS 2004. Keith Smith Posted September 12, 2008 at 05:03 AM Posted September 12, 2008 at 05:03 AM This is normal. Xplane doesn't even know that those are other planes that are flying around. Xsquawkbox is simply drawing some 3d objects on the screen and moving them around. Wake turbulence (and sound) are not supported.
