Brad Littlejohn Posted September 13, 2008 at 09:31 PM Posted September 13, 2008 at 09:31 PM I saw this yesterday while updating my iPhone, and thought it would be interesting here. http://www.macworld.com/article/135531/2008/09/xplane.html?t=109 http://www.flightsimx.co.uk/xplane/iphone-x-plane-review/ Now.. if we can get a port of XSquawkbox, we're all set with either 3G or WiFi! Aggrey Ellis 964561 Posted September 13, 2008 at 09:45 PM Posted September 13, 2008 at 09:45 PM Thats nuts. Im buying this right now. BTW, Another nice app to have is ForeFlight. It's a bit pricey but worth it. I use it as my little Electronic Flightbag ZLA I11 VATCAF S1

Roy Evans 1061333 Posted September 27, 2008 at 02:22 PM Posted September 27, 2008 at 02:22 PM I've been trying to see what the real limits of the sim have been, and took the Cirrus Jet as light as can be and tried to climb as high as I could. I think I could have made it to FL550 but at FL549 i started to get impatient and the aircraft started to stall out. So, with all that time wasted, I tried to see how fast I could get it. Mach 0.90 and 458 KIAS was what I reached. Thinking about squawkbox on this thing...that might be a handful. Roy Evans II ZDV_RE, C1
Dan Everette Posted September 27, 2008 at 04:07 PM Posted September 27, 2008 at 04:07 PM It used to bed fun to play with when sitting in at boring meetings. But after the last update through the AppStore, it only loads for about 30 sec, then crashes (sim, not plane). -Dan Everette CFI, CFII, MEI Having the runway in sight just at TDZE + 100 is like Mom, Warm cookies and milk, and Christmas morning, all wrapped into one. Roy Evans 1061333 Posted September 27, 2008 at 04:19 PM Posted September 27, 2008 at 04:19 PM Hmm.... the last update had no negative effects on my experience...the sim in fact seems to be more fluid, and less choppy, even when changing views. Dan Everette Posted September 28, 2008 at 02:45 PM Posted September 28, 2008 at 02:45 PM Weird... I deleted a couple free apps that I wasn't using as much (if at all, but seemed like a good idea to install at the time ) Works like a charm now... This and ForeFlight are my two favorite apps. -Dan Everette CFI, CFII, MEI Having the runway in sight just at TDZE + 100 is like Mom, Warm cookies and milk, and Christmas morning, all wrapped into one. Aggrey Ellis 964561 Posted September 28, 2008 at 11:12 PM Posted September 28, 2008 at 11:12 PM I wouldnt want to go on VATSIM with it. It's just nice to play around with. Turbulence makes it fun though. trying to fly The Cirrus Jet in level 10 turbulence is impossible. ZLA I11 VATCAF S1
