All African Countries will implement RVSM Rules effective SEPTEMPER 25TH 2008 AT TIME 0001 UTC

 

I have read on some Aviation Forums about it and also most of the African ACCs have released NOTAMs confirming it

 

Are our african vACCs and Divisions ready to implement it on VATSIM As well ?

What about Holding a MEGA African event celebrating the RVSM in Africa ??

Some Infromation about the new RVSM implementation

 

-Between midnight and 02h00 on the 25th, FL310, 350, and 390 will not be used, because these are the "dangerous" FL's which will change direction.

 

-Only RVSM approved aircraft will be allowed in RVSM airspace. (FL290-FL410). This approval must be indicated in the FPL, else ATC will not allow you in. Non-RVSM State aircaraft (Police, Customs and military) will be allowed into the RVSM airspace, but 2000feet seperation will be maintained.

 

-Non-RVSM aircraft will be kept below the airspace, FL280 and below,

As long as I know each Country should add a suplement to it's AIP Including the latest updates

I've found this for Swaziland and South Africa (Have Graphs) So check the link below :

The same docomeent has been published by all african ACCs including the new procedures during transition time and in general

 

* Steps of implementing RVSM In Africa On 25th September 08

 

-the 24th September 2315 UTC: Controllers Will start transmiting to all aircraft: “Attention all aircraft x2, RVSM operations will begin at 0001 UTC"(

Repeat this at 2330; 2345 & 2355)

 

-At 0001 UTC Start allocating RVSM flight levels to aircraft except FL310, 350, and 390

 

-0001-0200 UTC: Suspend use of EastBound RVSM FL 310, 350, and 390

 

- 0001-0200 UTC: Allocate only RVSM FL290, 330, 370, and 410 to East Bound flights.

 

-At 0201 UTC: Start allocating without flight level exception RVSM flight levels

 

- Apply 2000ft separation in emergencycase and keep using RVSM FLIGHTLEVELS

VATCAF will implement on September 25th. I am working to have all of our vACC's setup under the new RVSM rules.
