Jeff Clark 1043111 Posted September 16, 2008 at 10:42 AM Posted September 16, 2008 at 10:42 AM I have just updated my system with a TH2GO. Works great. However when I try to open FSInn I loose all graphics and end up with a black screen that won't refresh. I have tried updating the drivers for my nVidia 8800GTS and also for the TH2GO with no sucess. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Are there any suggestions as to how I can resolve my problem? I have tried reducing the screen resolution with no luck. Benjamin Van Eps 987241 Posted September 17, 2008 at 03:06 AM Posted September 17, 2008 at 03:06 AM That's a tough one. I have both 8800 GTS and 3H2Go.... and only had that problem way back in the day. I would make sure you have done a correct un-install and correct reinstall of the 8800GTS drivers (I am using 175.19). Make sure you are using the current (Beta for a while now...year or so) of FSInn 1.3 and CoPilot 1.7 Knock those two options out and come back... Jeff Clark 1043111 Posted September 19, 2008 at 11:36 AM Author Posted September 19, 2008 at 11:36 AM I have tried all those options. With no luck. Someone put me onto a Windows Vista Ultimate miltiple screen hot fix how ever it seems I already have that running on my system. I have tried running the screen resolution the same as the game resolution but that didn't work either. At this stage I seem to be stuck with the problem and will have to keep searching the net. Benjamin Van Eps 987241 Posted September 19, 2008 at 01:28 PM Posted September 19, 2008 at 01:28 PM Jeff, are the black portions of the screen stemming from the small FSInn windows or has the entire screen gone black. http:// http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?t=22441&view=previous&sid=09b7cd6c9ec196dbc772aa0842ae8e40 If it's just the stemming from the windows of FSInn - it's the video driver. Be sure to use clean sweep in safe mode etc. when updating drivers in the event you didn't. A lot of people over look the importance of a correct uninstall of the previous driver (thus nothing really changes). You may already know this - I am just checking. Jeff Clark 1043111 Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:48 AM Author Posted September 21, 2008 at 03:48 AM I just experienced a fatal error on FSX. I uninstalled FSX and all [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociated software then re-installed one at a time. Everything worked fine even GameSpy and VatSim. I went to lunch came back to fly and all turned bad again. I noticed that in the display settings of FSX when I first installed it all the screen resolutions were available including 32/16 bit etc (this was when everything was working fine) now I only have screen resolutions available at 32bit and the resolution that I run my monitors at with the TH2GO (5040x1050x32) this is not available in the selection list. The highest I can select is 3840x1024x32. I think this is where my problem lies. I have FSX with the acceleration pack installed as well as Copilot and FSInn. Benjamin Van Eps 987241 Posted September 21, 2008 at 04:47 AM Posted September 21, 2008 at 04:47 AM Which 3H2Go do you have? My can only run a 3840x1024 (which is what I run at). They are just not releasing a version that will do a widescreen - you must have it. How about a firmware ware update http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/gxm/windows/th2go/digital/howto1/ I see it can be done http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/resolution/digital/resolutions.html How about this - have you run the "optimaztion" wizard of the matrox for FSX? This adds the resolutions to your FSX.cfg. ASUS P8P67 Pro | 2600k @ 4.7 | eVGA 460 GTX | 8 GB RipJaw | Matrox 3H2Go
Jeff Clark 1043111 Posted September 21, 2008 at 06:26 AM Author Posted September 21, 2008 at 06:26 AM I have discovered the problem. Wooo Hooo. Under the display settings of FSX there is an option to Preview Direct X10. If I uncheck this box all operates correctly (VatSim & GameSpy etc) as soon as I recheck that box I loose everything. But you don't loose it until you shut down FSX then restart it again. As for the resolution someone sent me an e-mail on a latest update for the TH2GO and it allowed the wide screen resolutions. I will post it as soon as I find it. Jeff
