I have downloaded all the approprite software (Squawkbox and AVC) but I am having connection troubles.

I enter the IP of the UK server when I start squawkbox and it shows a screen saying it is searching for games and returns no results.

IT's not my firewall as I have tried with it disabled.

Welcome to VATSIM Marc Steele ([Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming you are new)!

What version are you trying to run, SB2 or SB3 ?

There are two new software SquawkBox 3 (SB3), and FSInn. You can chose one of them or try both. They have same purpose, to be the client software for VATSIM, but different design and some different options.

- SB2 is old and not recommended.

- SB3 must NOT run together with AVC. SB3 run stand alone with buit in voice.

You need a firewall to protect your computer, else you can get virus usually in some 1-30 minutes, but you can also get it at any moment.

You don't need to disconnect or open any port in firewall to connect to Vatsim with SB3. To receive voice with SB3, you only need to open and forward UDP port 3290 to your PC, and this is ONLY needed to receive voice proper.

Hi Marc:

One thing that Lennart missed is that it appears from the title of this thread that you are using FS2000. SB3 will not work with FS2000 (only FS2002 and FS2004). Therefore, you need to download and install FSInn which is the other new pilot client. You'll want to use AVC with FSInn as it does not have the built-in voice at this time.

Hope this helps.

No success. FSInn only works on FS2002/FS2004. It was SB2 I was originally using.

Edit: Yes I did miss the FS2000 (I did read as 2002).
