Dear pilots,

 

Effective 25 September 2008 at 0001Z: VATSIM Central Africa Division has implemented new RVSM airspace rules in keeping with real world procedures.

 

http://www.jeppesen.com/download/briefbull/at_a_rvsm.pdf is the link for more info on the RVSM transition.

 

All 14 FIR's within VATSIM Central Africa will implement RVSM above FL290 and below FL430.

So far so good! We had an event last Sunday and I observed some pilots filing flight plans using the old rules and some with the new RVSM altitudes.

 

I guess it will take some time to get the word out.
