Peter Larsen 885332 Posted October 14, 2008 at 04:42 PM Posted October 14, 2008 at 04:42 PM Are there anyway to set proper QNH?, on some Aircrafts you can't even see the number on the Altimeter.
Wade Williams 877539 Posted October 14, 2008 at 04:51 PM Posted October 14, 2008 at 04:51 PM Peter, Just open up the plane in PlaneMaker, go to Standard->Panel 2d in the menu and you can drag a digital barometric pressure gauge onto the panel somewhere. Then save it and you're good to go. The gauge is under the instrument list at supplements->baro_pressure_dig.png
Peter Nolin 954217 Posted October 14, 2008 at 09:42 PM Posted October 14, 2008 at 09:42 PM There are also a plugin called VisualAltimeter at x-plane.org in the filemanager that can help you with this.

Keith Smith Posted October 16, 2008 at 04:59 PM Posted October 16, 2008 at 04:59 PM Peter, I'm with Wade (and I've done this on all of Chandler's Pipers), simply add the digital barometer. It takes about 15 secs once you're comfortable with the plane maker interface. Take the plunge, add the gauge.
Peter Larsen 885332 Posted October 16, 2008 at 05:49 PM Author Posted October 16, 2008 at 05:49 PM Tried with plane-maker and this is the result: How do you remove the old Alt.?`, i just placed the Digital Alt. over the existing. (I had to take screenshot via the menu because for some reason i couldn't use keyboard shortcut , normally i can but this time i couldn't) Edit: as you can see the digitis on the Radio has moved down to the Fuel Qty. gauge and two gauges from the old gauge. Keith Smith Posted October 16, 2008 at 06:23 PM Posted October 16, 2008 at 06:23 PM Peter, You must have moved the com1 display down and left on the panel while becoming acquainted with the tool. I would start from scratch ([Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming you made a backup). Place the digital altimeter in a blank spot on the panel (perhaps between the AI, altimeter, DG and VSI). Ain't working . That was news to me. I haven't tested it yet in XP9. But the idea is that it only shows when you are turning the altimeterknob. Works perfectly in XP8. GAH. I hate debugging when I have no time. Haven't even been online on vatsim for... ...many yonks!

Peter L[Mod - Happy Thoughts]n must not have installed it correctly. Peter, the plugin (and only the plugin - the .xpl file) goes in your X-Plane->Resources->Plugins folder. You'll need to exit and relaunch X-plane in order for it to load if you already have it running when you install it.
Peter Larsen 885332 Posted October 17, 2008 at 07:53 PM Author Posted October 17, 2008 at 07:53 PM I use X-plane 8.64 . I have only installed the .xpl file (for Mac) in that folder. Another issue is that i can't find any small digital GA digital Altimeter in planemaker. Edit: the plugin don't show up in the "plugin" menu in X-plane. Wade Williams 877539 Posted October 18, 2008 at 04:45 PM Posted October 18, 2008 at 04:45 PM Peter, Show a screenshot of your plugins folder. It makes no sense that it works for everyone else, but not you.
Peter Larsen 885332 Posted October 18, 2008 at 08:49 PM Author Posted October 18, 2008 at 08:49 PM Here's a screenshot: As you can see ´tis there and should be the correct folder.
Peter Nolin 954217 Posted October 18, 2008 at 09:23 PM Posted October 18, 2008 at 09:23 PM The plugin is "hidden". So it should not show up in the plugins menu. but it should show up when you choose pluginmanager. AND a small box should popup breifly on the screen to the left when you turn the knob.
