Almost a certainty that I won't make it this year. D.C.'s a long trip from Utah and seeing as how I've already got a trip to Calgary planned for later this summer, I doubt a "hobby" vacation will be in the cards.

Maybe someday, but don't think it'll be this year. Had it been on the west coast... possibly, but east coast is pushin' it.

Hope y'all have fun though!

If you're legal to spill a few pints please let me know when you are in Cowtown. If it's during The Stampede ("more fun than you can shake a corndog at") than please change "few pints" to "few too many pints".

hmmmm on second thought - seeing how you are from Utah - we could toss back a few soft drinks, just breathe air, or whatever you are able to do.

I'm not *that* kind of Utahn, if you know what I mean. And, for the record, I'm plenty more than "legal" -- heck, by the FAA's standards, I'm nearly "old" That said, I'm still not one to go for the high octane stuff, so more likely be the soft drinks!

At any rate, it would be kinda fun to bump into ya up there & hang out for a bit. I'm not sure how much of my trip's going to actually be in Calgary -- probably going to try & get over to Banff for a good little while, possibly also up to Edmonton for a short stop. Right now the plan is to come up sometime in August -- just haven't quite figured out the specific dates yet.

I may drive up to DC for a day or two, highly doubt I'll be spending the night at the hotel that the convention is at. DC is only a 6 hour drive north for me.

Jeff,

I'm in Ogden, Utah (about 30 miles north of SLC) -- unfortunately

Just teasin' -- it is a pretty place. Almost makes up for the culture!

Im out here at Shaw AFB, SC just E of Columbia SC. . . well not just, but about 40-50 mins E of CAE. I may actually fly up to DCA or IAD, who knows. Would be standby, but it would save me from sitting in my car for 6-8hrs+. I unfortunately won't be able to know if I am going to make it until I see the schedule for the month of August.

I'm planning on making it. Will be going with a friend of mine who lives in DC and who is a recent new member of the VATSIM community. DC will be my first convention since THE first convention (SATCO) back in 1999. Looking forward to seeing y'all.

Yeah, Ft. Jackson is JUST NE of Columbia. Right outside of I77, where as Shaw is about 40-50mins E on HWY 378 in Sumter SC. I'll see what I can do, would certainly be a pleasure to shake your hand as well.

Only time will tell, and like I said, it will most certainly end up being a last minute decision.

I live about 10 minutes from DCA, and work about 15 from IAD. I'm incredibly new to VATSIM, but I've been simming for years. I'd be more than happy to buy a drink, give a tour, or offer a ride to anyone who comes out.

Boy is that the truth, I am only about a 3 hour drive, I dont think I could even afford the gas to get there, much less the registration fee
