Alex Bailey 969331 Posted October 24, 2008 at 12:55 AM Posted October 24, 2008 at 12:55 AM Anthony, You have to read the various reference material available to you, otherwise you won't get anywhere. With that said, a quick search of the ZAU website produces this SOP docomeent, which has the information you desire. http://www.zauartcc.org/facguide.htm Alex Bailey ZMA I-
Harold Rutila 974112 Posted October 24, 2008 at 01:01 AM Posted October 24, 2008 at 01:01 AM It's not hard to observe. What is most likely happening to you is that KORD is not staffed and has little or no traffic when you are observing. VATSIM controllers are not 24/7 controllers, and pilots aren't numerous all the time. The best time to observe would be when there is a controller online. You can download VATSpy to figure out when controllers are online. It's a free utility developed by Ross Carlson that lets the public see VATSIM connections. metacraft.com/vatspy is the link. When there are controllers online, you'll see them in your controller list. Tools --> Controller List. Right click on their callsign, click Monitor. If so, don't. Try Firefox or Opera. Haven't had a problem with either of those in years (I've been using Opera for 10, Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox since '94). BL. Norman Blackburn Posted October 25, 2008 at 05:16 AM Posted October 25, 2008 at 05:16 AM I'm pretty sure AVSIM has a warning telling people to SAVE files rather than simply opening straight from their site for this very reason. Like Brad I've been using the net from its inception but have used IE almost exclusively without issue (I escaped from Netscape Navigator ).
