Keith Smith Posted November 19, 2008 at 05:13 PM Posted November 19, 2008 at 05:13 PM In addition to 3rd party scenery, recently updates airports in the stock database DO contain taxiway markings and signs. Make sure you have the latest apt.dat files from Robin Peel, here: http://x-plane.org/home/robinp/ It is up to the community to design these airports using the relatively new WED tool and contribute their modifications to Robin, who rolls them in to the master DB. In short, yes, some DEFAULT airports in xplane do contain markings and signs now.
Peter Larsen 885332 Posted November 19, 2008 at 07:24 PM Posted November 19, 2008 at 07:24 PM Taxing in Atlanta (CSA) can be a pain since thee are no taxi signs so you have to look at another diagram (which i print out) in order to follow or just use your intuition . Controllers are happy to help you as long as you state you have xplane and are unable to read taxiway signs.
Wade Williams 877539 Posted November 19, 2008 at 07:47 PM Posted November 19, 2008 at 07:47 PM Ted's scenery has taxiway signs. Additionally, if you're a member of an X-plane-based VA, they'll generally have their own airport scenery that includes taxiway signs.
