Julian Diamandis 926992 Posted November 21, 2008 at 09:37 PM Posted November 21, 2008 at 09:37 PM Me again with another problem When in flight sim the left and right ailerons in all aircraft seem to be intermittent. Pitch up and down is fine. I have a Force3d Pro joystick, but when I go to the preferences to test the device there is defiantly an input from the joystick, as if to suggest there is nothing wrong with it. When looking at the wings the ailerons does move but then flicks down straight away. The problem has been happening for about a month, but has got progressively worse. Auto pilots seem to fly as expected, but when flying manual, I can not always turn. It defiantly isn't icing, because I have tried it in a heat wave. Has anybody experienced this problem? thanks Videocard: GTX480 Processor: i7 core Mainboard: Memory: Soundcard: Creative X-Fi Titanium PSU: CAIR 750W CMPSU-750TXUK http://www.youtube.com/user/joolsd
Lennart Vedin Posted November 23, 2008 at 09:15 AM Posted November 23, 2008 at 09:15 AM It sound like there might be a potentiometer going bad in the joystick, due to "I can not always turn", "got progressively worse". The potentiometers are the most common hardware fault in joystick, while other bad cable connection can happen as well. Use your warranty, else potentiometers may be easy to change your self. You may swith two potentiometer to confirm problem. There may be standard potentiometers or potentiometers adapted for joysticks (Force3d Pro). / Lennart Vedin /
Julian Diamandis 926992 Posted November 27, 2008 at 05:12 PM Author Posted November 27, 2008 at 05:12 PM During the past month I have had successive problems, for example hard drives errors on boot up and a problem with a none responsive controller. I believe it was a faulty keyboard which finally packed up last weekend which was the reason for the above problems, because everything has been perfect since. I can't really give full explanation, other than the faulty key board was maybe in some way interfering with the power of the USB bus and causing problems with other devices.
