Isaac Peter 907474 Posted June 18, 2005 at 07:05 PM Posted June 18, 2005 at 07:05 PM I am trying to add on a .bgl file from [/url]http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=kmsp&CatID=fs2004http:// When I put it in FS2004 I go under add on scenery because I put the .bgl file in add on scenery type in KMSP to try to find it. It will not find any scenery files. Any help would be nice. thanks
Lennart Vedin Posted June 18, 2005 at 08:18 PM Posted June 18, 2005 at 08:18 PM I'm not specialist but I do following for FS2004: I got some scenery files e.g. *.bgl files and some texture files type *.bmp files. I create any name for tid e.g. KMSP. If needed I create new folders. KMSP is just a name I select for this scenery. I create maps: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\KMSP (Just a name for this scenery) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\KMSP\Scenery (for bgl files) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\KMSP\Texture (for bmp files if available) I start FS2004 go to Settings -> Scenery Library -> Add Area -> mark directory KMSP push OK and then make sure the new scenery is Enabled. Restart FS and thats is. / Lennart Vedin /

Second, when I got the file, it didn't come with a texture, it just came with the .bgl. Go to the think for avsim and download one and you will see what I mean. thanks for your help
Lennart Vedin Posted June 18, 2005 at 08:29 PM Posted June 18, 2005 at 08:29 PM > Go to the think for avsim and download one and you will see what I mean. I know what you mean. A scenery dont need to have new textures, they can use FS default. In this case you just create the folder "Scenery" for bgl files. As I wrote "(for bmp files if available) " If you have FS2004, then you have "Settings". But its only available at the very startup of FS, before you select/create a flight. / Lennart Vedin /
Isaac Peter 907474 Posted June 18, 2005 at 09:54 PM Author Posted June 18, 2005 at 09:54 PM I found the settings page. But still, it is only listed as a add on and not as the indivdual file. And also, it won't load. I have it in the add on folder but it won't load.
Lennart Vedin Posted June 19, 2005 at 12:20 AM Posted June 19, 2005 at 12:20 AM > But still, it is only listed as a add on and not as the indivdual file The indivdual file should not be listed, 'cause usually there are several files. As in my example above, After you add area"KMSP", then it's "KMSP" that should be listed and Enabled. I dont think you can't add a file in FS, you must create a folder and add the folder in FS. My comment: The default folders "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\scenery" and "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\textures" I have neveer used and I dont Enable "Add on scenery", 'cause I suppose this are for the default folders. Better logestic to 'create new areas (=new folders). I have to correct my English i previous post "I create maps: " , I mean "I create folders:" ("mapp" is Swedish ) / Lennart Vedin /
Jason Harris 877712 Posted June 19, 2005 at 02:03 AM Posted June 19, 2005 at 02:03 AM OR you can just put the single .bgl file in the "x:\...\Addon Scenery\Scenery\" folder. Then, as long as the "Addon Scenery" is enabled in the floder is enabled in the scenery options, you should be ready to go. Jason Harris
