So does Egypt, but it belongs to VATNAF for now

Israel is a separate division in VATAME - known as VATIL (You know that, you are a staff member there ). VATAME has these divisions in total:

VATSAF (South Africa), VATNAF (North Africa, including Egypt and Morocco/Algiers), VATCAF (Central Africa including Congo, Kenya etc.), VATME (Middle East - once known as VATGULF) and VATIL.

I just visited VATME site. and saw this map.

Q: isn't the state of ISRAEL resides in the middle east????

You are absolutely correct! But VATSIM Middle East is a separate division; VATSIM Israel is it's own division mate, as Ilan has pointed out.

That doesn't mean, however, that VATME and VATIL won't work together. Insha'Allah, we'll have a lot of stuff planned in the future.

Thanks Mahmoud.

I really wish that we will have a lot of events together. I just thought that Divisions and regions in VATSIM do have some correlation with actual status in reality, in Which Middle east is a Region and ISRAEL is a part of it (division). Any way, formal definitions are less important. We are really looking forward for more cooperative events in our region: You are more than invited to contact VATIL events coordinator Eyal Seminar here is a link to his profile:

Mr. Spiegel,

You are more or less correct. As you know, VATIL is part of the VATSIM Africa & Middle East region, whereas the VATME Division was created over a year ago after a lengthy report was produced and approved by all of VATAME.

When the time comes and VATME has integrated its systems appropriately, we will begin making efforts to work with our neighbors .
