Just wondering, is it possible to setup an alias for the metar to go into the text box to send over frequency? Without having to copy and paste....

> $metar(station)

The complete METAR string of the station. When you first call this function it may return an empty string. It is because when the METAR is needed EuroScope asks for it from the servers, but the evaluation is not suspended to wait for the result. Therefore and empty string will come, but next time as the METAR arrives it will be displayed correctly.

Thanks for that.

So basically, select aircraft, then $metar EIDW -for example? (Is there a space or not, etc?)

Is it really to possible to send this metar string via text in Euroscope? I've tried it several times, but didn't have any success...

Hm, I just tested it with 3.0c2 and couldn't get it working, either. Maybe a bug?

That is strange...it is not working here either....but it may be a beta bug, not a official release bug...Alexander, what version is your EuroScope?

Colm,

The syntax is $metar(), eg. $metar(LHBP).

Alexander, Stephan,

Do not forget how ES extracts the function names in the command line. After typing .metar(LHBP) you must press the TAB to get the values. The good thing is that it will not be replaced by an empty string if the metar is unavailable. So you can press the TAB some seconds later when the metar arrives from the server.
