SimSWA ACARS Problem

Hi All,

I posted the following on the SimSWA site on 12/4 but had no response. So I will try here

When I click on the SWA ACARS I get a window - "Just-in-Time Debugging" message that says ""An exception "System.InvalidOperationException" has occurred in Simulated Southwest ACARS.exe."" In the box for possible debuggers it gives me a choice of two:

New instsance of Microsoft CLR Debugger 2003

New instance of Visual Studio .net 2003

and asks if I want to select one of the debuggers.

I have selected the .net 2003 and it brings up the "simulated Southwest ACARS.exe.manifest" for editing. I don't know the software language, but suspect C++. The following lines in green colored font are in the security section:

I don't know if this has any thing to do with my problem or not.

The error comes up whether or not FSACRS is installed or not. I have deleted and reinstalled both programs several trime with and without reboot and/or complete shutdown and with and without a regclean run. Nothing changes.

My system is a Dell Dimension 8400, Intel Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz processosr, 3 gb mem with ATI Radeon X1900 Video card with 512 RAM.

I don't know if it is a conflict with hardware, software or what! The only thing that happens when I click on the icon for SWA ACARS is the initial opening screen for Version 2.1 and then the debugging window.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get SWA ACARS up and running?

Thanks,

Dave

You need to get [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance from whoever wrote/maintains/supports that program (most likely at SIMSWA).... I think either their forums or emailing them is your best bet, these forums are for VATSIM, not SIMSWA issues.

Thanks Dave,

Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. My firsts statement in the original post indicated that I had tried SimSWA.

Understood, but you are looking for [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance with a complex technical issue about a specific VA in a general VATSIM forum. It's the equivalent of coming to an FAA forum saying you are having a problem with an American Airlines issue. Again, I think the course of action is for you to touch base wtih someone at VSWA. Forums aren't the only way to communicate...and there are lots of staff members you can email...

Good luck with your issue.
