How do I stop RX FSX ATC TX while using VATSIM??

I am using FSX with FSInn. When I tune in certain VASTIM ATC and/or ATIS frequencies, I also pick up the FSX ATC TXs. How can I stop this?

 

I have moved the "traffic" slider all the way to the left in setup and unchecked all boxes related to FSX ATC in the FSX settings windows.

 

I have read the PRC and searched this forum for answers but did not find any. Apologies if I overlooked something.

I am pretty sure it is FSX ATIS and ATC tx. They reference the FSX airliners ( e.g., World Travel Airlines). The ATIS has the same sounding background chatter as when I am only using FSX ATC (i.e., not logged in to VATSIM).

FSX doesn't use a multiplayer system as found with previous versions.

 

Please ensure that FSX isn't using the ATC or voice systems.

 

Go to:

 

Options | Settings | Sounds | Voice - move the slider to the left.

Options | Settings | General | ATC - untick.

 

If you tune to a frequency that is also used for ATIS you may get their text scrolling across the FS Screen. This can be turned off using FSUIPC.

I'm curious on what FSX ATC transmissions are you hearing, if you really have both GA and Airline Traffic off? There should be no one for them to talk to.

Norm, which option turns this off in FSUIPC? Wonder if it has to be registered, I didn't see a option that looked like this.

 

I flew through LAX CTR last night and when I tuned in, Flagstaff ATIS was scrolling.

 

I probably should just use FSXPlanner and change Flagstaff ATIS.

One of Pete Dowson's free programmes was ADVDisplay which did this. He then incorporated that within FSUIPC 4. I don't know if a registration is required or not, however the option I believe is on the front page - "hide all single line messages"

Will this also hide the single line METAR and Private Messages I see while on VATSIM?

Yes. The idea behind this feature is "to hide all single line messages."
